Savor and Relish, Thanks for the Memories!
Klyde Warren Park is sad to see its longtime restaurant partners close this Sunday evening, due to the economic impact of COVID-19. As a non-profit that relies on revenue from this space to stay clean, safe and active, the Park has already begun the process of determining next steps. We look forward to using the space as a pop-up event venue for the next several months, as we seek out the perfect new long-term restaurant concept.

Coming soon: Look for a survey from us requesting your input on the restaurant AND for information about renting the space for your next socially distanced event!
RESIST COVID/TAKE 6!
A Public Awareness Campaign
from Artist and Photographer Carrie Mae Weems
Klyde Warren Park is proud to join a consortium of local organizations to present RESIST COVID/TAKE 6!, a new artist-driven project launched by Carrie Mae Weems. The project’s goal is to combat the spread of the virus among people of color via visual healthcare messaging. Look for images on billboards, in North Texas neighborhoods and on public service announcements.

This multi-city project is being led in Dallas-Fort Worth by Dallas Contemporary and a consortium of local nationally recognized museums, including the African American Museum of Dallas, Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas, Dallas Museum of Art, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, The Nasher Sculpture Center, and the newly-formed Gossypion Investments group of cultural consultants.

A Day in the Arts Highlight:
Texas Ballet Theater and Lyle Lovett
“Don't Touch My Hat”
Bring boot-scootin’ ballet to your living room with this collaboration between Texas Ballet Theater and Texas singer/songwriter Lyle Lovett. One performance, technically apart, features a clever dance routine to the popular “Don’t Touch My Hat” with 19 dancers. Who knew ballet and boots would make such terrific “pardners?” Watch out for Lovett’s 10-gallon cameo at the video’s end!

MEET LAUREN YEUNG

Lauren Yeung, Financial Accounting Coordinator for Klyde Warren Park, moved to Dallas from the Big Apple two years ago. She loves to people-watch during lunch time and finds great joy being surrounded by a busy downtown Dallas, while feeling at peace within the Park. We are lucky Lauren brought her numbers skills and calming personality to Big D. She has fallen in love with the city and its people by witnessing connections made in the Park and is now a believer in “southern hospitality.” So are we, Lauren! So are we…
Friends of Klyde Warren Park members sustain our grass, gardens and play areas, artistic performances, music, and everything else that makes this nationally admired public space so vibrant—and free for everyone. Thank you so much for your support, and we will see you in the Park!
