Board & Community Update

Members at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City will continue to have access to innovative STEAM education from circuity, coding to drones, thanks to a $33,880 grant from the Arman Roy Foundation. This will be the second year of extraordinary partnership with the Arman Roy Foundation whose mission is to empower underserved students with technology resources and education, enabling them to be successful in today’s digital world.

It's so important that we support youth in Atlantic City, because there’s a critical need here,” said Manisha Roy, Foundation Chairperson and Arman’s mother. “We are fortunate to find a dedicated team at the Boys & Girls Club who are passionate about helping their kids succeed. They are always ready to roll up their sleeves and co-create programs that will make a difference. Arman’s beautiful spirit continues to inspire a new generation of innovators.”

Nearly 300 advocates from Boys & Girls Clubs across the country met with members of Congress in Washington, D.C. to discuss the issues impacting kids and teens in America. The gathering, from March 5-7, was the 10th annual National Days of Advocacy event organized by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Dr. Charles A. Wallace II joined leaders, volunteers, and youth representatives from nearly 150 Boys & Girls Clubs.

The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City was thrilled to be part of Project Prom, a magical and empowering weekend for local girls. According to Chair and Co-founder Rene Kane, “The 2024 Project Prom served a record number of girls—460 girls picked out beautiful dresses for their proms. The girls come to the event shy, and leave transformed with confidence, many seeing themselves beautiful for the first time. The volunteers receive as much or more happiness than they are able to give. It is truly one of the happiest events to be a part of.”

Our Gen-Z Pop Up Shop was inspirational, showcasing the talents of our local teen entrepreneurs in our community.
