There are very few things better than giving a child the opportunity for a brighter future. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County, we are able to make that possible for countless local youth because of the generosity of our Board of Directors, Community Partners, donors, staff, and volunteers.
As the year comes to an end, we look forward to continuing serving South San Luis Obispo County youths and their families in 2022. In order to do so, we need your help! Would you be willing to skip your morning latte and donate the $5? Would you be willing to share our newsletters with your friends and family? Would you be interested in volunteering? We couldn't do this without YOU!

NOAH
Teen Coordinator
We're overjoyed to award Noah with November Staff of the Month! He's a SLO native, Cal Poly graduate with a degree in Psychology, and our in-house teen whisperer. Noah knows how important it is to have a place to feel comfortable, especially as a young person, so he strives to make things fun, comfortable, and safe for our youth. His commitment to our local youth is evident in his hard work to make our teen programs the best they can be. Congratulations, Noah!
"In my personal life, I'm an unabashed nerd with a passion for music, comic books, video games. I have an amazing fiancée and a cute-but-needy dog. I also play guitar and make a pretty mean fried chicken sandwich." - Noah

We did some awesome activities this during the month of November covering a wide variety of different topics. We experimented with vinegar and baking soda to blow up a balloon. The SLO Foodbank, were very generous by hosting a youth farmers' market with fresh produce our youth were able to to bring home to their families. The youth also got a chance to learn about the produce they received that day. One new exciting after school enrichment class that started is ZULU!

Our youth of the month here is a very bright, just like his favorite color yellow! Jonathan enjoys hanging outside with some of his friends playing handball. Jonathan is always willing to give his helping hand in every moment.

Even with the time change, the youth have requested outdoor activities. Some of these include: dodgeball, soccer, Triple Play, and tennis. These were chosen to help our youth develop skills, such as; good sportsmanship, teamwork, patience, sharing, empathy, and concentration. Other youth favorites have been arts and crafts activities like drawing themselves as a super hero and creating their own piñatas. During the month of December, we will continue to pick activities that enrich our youth, teach them 21st century skills, as well as fun and engaging activities. The youth look forward to the winter crafts and the fun guest speakers like Zumba! The youth look forward to the upcoming Winter Break.

The youth and staff at Shell Beach would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season and a Happy New year for 2022! We are excited to be ending this year with some fun activities such as Art, PowerHour games, and outdoor activities. During the month of December we will be working on a service project to give back to
our community. The youth will also be making greeting cards for those in need. Some of our youth have been working on projects that show what they are thankful for at the BGC. Some of the things they were thankful this past year were going back to school, friends, doing fun activities, working on homework,
playing outside, and having each other to laugh and have fun moments to share and play.
