Women's and Seniors PGA

Event Volunteer Opportunity

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to help with the Women’s and Seniors PGA Event on June 23rd & 24th!

We’re still looking for a few more volunteers to help make the event a big success. If you’d like to spend the day outside, enjoy the sunshine, and experience the tournament from the other side of the ropes, we’d love to have you join us💗

Jack and Jill Results

Thank you to all who played in the Spring edition of the Jack and Jill!

This mixed club event pairs one “Jack” and one “Jill” for a modified alternate shot format. In total, we had 42 teams come out and enjoy some friendly competition, stunning weather, and a great meal afterwards in Bill Matticks Restaurant.🌞🍔

Our overall gross winners were Colette Chekerda & Darwin Gillies who shot an outstanding score of 2-over par, 73! On the net side, Jim and Tracy Marshall were victorious after shooting 6-under, 65! For those wanting to see a full breakdown of the results, click here!

The next edition of the Jack and Jill will be hosted on Sunday July 13th, with registration opening up at 7:00am on June 15th. We hope to see you all there!

Ladies Interclub

We hosted Cowichan on May 20th for our 2nd match entering it down 2 points. Our first team of Mary Braithwaite and Cathy Clackson recovered all of those points plus 1. The next two groups of Janet Jones, Sharlene Smith, Gwen Phillips and Jaci Ross had close matches and ended up only losing 1 of those points. The final team of Jennifer Smith and Marilyn Lowry tied making the match the exact opposite of that played at Cowichan – CB 37 points and Cowichan 35 points for an overall tie of 72 to 72.

On May 29th we headed to Highland Pacific to exact our revenge as we were down 8 points after playing at home. The first team of sisters Kim Connolly and Judy Young immediately grabbed back 3 of those points. Unfortunately, as was the case at Cordova Bay, only 1 of the four matches were won. Our remaining players of Darlene Ell, Marilyn Lowry, Marie Van Dyk, Sharlene Smith, Deb Carnes and Laraine Niewinski were taken for a total of 9 points leaving us down 6 for our away match (CB 33 vs. HP 39). The total score was CB 65 and HP 79. We’ll get ‘em next year!

Throwback Thursday

Remember how much fun we had at last year’s 3rd Annual Dancing on the Green Party? Nothing beats good food, sunshine, and laughs with friends while listening to music. Just felt like reminiscing… totally not hinting at anything coming soon… not at all… 🤫

Golf + Playoff Hockey= 💗

Sutty and his trusty sidekick, Maynard, were proudly rocking their Oilers gear for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday! Looks like they might’ve been the good luck charm — and depending who you ask, they better not take that gear off anytime soon! 🐾🏒
