PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Last week we welcomed former TV personality and comedian Bob Wiltfong, who gave an informative presentation on B.S. (business speak) in the workplace. Wiltfong began with how he would overhear his wife speak in business “code” to colleges. This made him decide to look into words and their origins. He decided that it was interesting enough to publish a book. He learned that sometimes words don't mean what we may think and they might not be as offensive as we think to sports terms and their impact on business speak. Another takeaway is to always give credit to a good story whether it is true or not.

Thank you to Past President Angelo Volpe & Billie Volpe for sponsoring the dinner at yesterday’s Jax Sharks game. It was a great networking event and I look forward to more sport networking in the future.

This Wednesday we welcome City Council District 4 member, Kevin Carrico, where he will give us an update on what’s happening in City Hall and the Southside. See everyone Wednesday!
