PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Last week we welcomed one of SBMC’s own, Paul Bednar and his wife Alicia who talked to us about K9s For Warriors, specifically their experience in being volunteer “puppy raisers” for the organization. They have taken in several puppies over the last three years and pre-trained them before the dogs return to K9s For Warriors to receive their "professional" service dog training and get matched up with their warrior as a "Battle Buddy" for life.

Nearly 700 warriors have been served and 1,300 service dogs have been saved from shelters. One thing I found interesting is that if a dog fails the rigorous training due to health or other reasons, the majority end up still in service as emotional support animals for various agencies or are put up for adoption to the general public.

I hope to see everyone this week. Bring a guest and get them signed up in order to qualify for the membership drive. Remember parking is free and the food has gotten better.

The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging.

ANNUAL JAGS TAILGATE PARTY

Join us for our annual tailgate party as the Jaguars take on the Titans! The party will be at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds on October 10 from 10am-1pm. Admission is just $25 each and includes all you can eat and drink food and beverages!

7TH ANNUAL JROTC CHARITY CLAY SHOOT

As one of our 2 largest fundraisers of the year, the Clay Shoot raises money to fund our JROTC Scholarship Program, which offers Scholarships to underprivileged cadets in Duval County Schools who excel in their JROTC program. A big thanks to Savage Bros. Painting & Dunkin’ for returning as presenting sponsors but we have room for more! As in all years prior, we’ll have a few dozen cadets volunteering from Robert E Lee High School. This year's Clay Shoot will be held on October 24. ANNUAL SBMC CAR SHOW

Our Annual SBMC Car Show will be held on October 30 from 8am until 2pm at Fields Cadillac of Jacksonville! This is always a fun and exciting event that you won't want to miss!

We are in need of liquor bottle donations, please bring a bottle in to one of our regular weekly meetings! This is a great way to support our Club!

NEW MEMBERSHIP INCENTIVE

From now until the end of the year, we will be having a friendly competition to see who can bring in the most new members! With a minimum of two new sign ups, the winner will receive a $250 cash prize. Bring your friends and co-workers to one of our regular meetings to show them the benefits of becoming a member!

SPOTLIGHT SPEAKER OPENINGS

This opportunity is free to all members in good standing and gives you the chance to speak about your business, family, interests, or anything else you would like to "spotlight" for five minutes. You can place business cards, flyers, or informational materials on the tables to showcase your business.
