NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SOLO
SHOWS IN THE BACK BAY ROOM
The Art Committee is now accepting applications for small, solo exhibitions. The back room of the Upper Gallery, the Back Bay Room, will be available for small exhibitions of artist members' work at a cost of $1,000. The intention is to make the room available for artists who have not yet compiled a body of work necessary for a full exhibition or solo show. Proposals will be considered at the regularly scheduled October and April meetings of the Art Committee, but may be submitted at any time. Artists can indicate a preference for which month and year they seek to exhibit. Please review the full
Guidelines for the Back Bay Room (formerly the Red Room Gallery) Exhibition Proposals
in the "Resources" tab in your profile on the website for further details.
SMALL EXHIBITIONS ON THE BACK WALL OF THE LOWER GALLERY
Artists may propose to have their art featured for a small exhibition on the back wall of the Lower Gallery. The intention is to make the wall available for artists who have not yet compiled a body of work necessary for a full Back Bay Room exhibition or solo show in the Upper Gallery. Proposals will be considered at the regularly scheduled October and April meetings of the Art Committee, but may be submitted at any time.

GOOGLE WEBSITE ANALYTICS
At the September Annual Meeting, Co|So staff provided analytics on social media usage during the past year. Instagram continues to be the social media platform that users engage with most. We have found a large spike in the number of users that come to our website through Instagram, although most people come to the Co|So website through Facebook because Instagram does not allow clickable links in posts. However, people who find us through Instagram spend a significantly longer time on our website. We found that our website visitor rate is up 15% from last year, and that we received a large spike of attention in July and August when it was announced that Robert Klein was the guest juror for the National Photography Show.
DIGITAL ARTWORK SUBMISSIONS
Images for work being dropped off must be submitted digitally. If artists do not submit their work online, their work will not be accepted and hung as part of the exhibition. In digital images, frames should not be visible, and colors should match those of the original piece as closely as possible.
ARTIST EXCHANGE COMMITTEE SEEKING NEW MEMBERS
We are seeking volunteers for the Artist Exchange Committee to plan the Artist Exchanges. Committee meets monthly and refreshments are provided. Interested candidates can email us at
SUBMISSIONS TO JURIED SHOWS
All images submissions to juried exhibitions must be high-resolution photographs. Please send us 300ppi JPEG images at 4x6" (or 1200 x 1800 pixels per inch)
1001 Artful Nights,
Auction, Benefit, and Gala to support art programs in Boston Public Schools, will be held at the Taj Boston Hotel on October 26th. CoSo artist member Jack Morefield is donating a painting to the silent auction to benefit the cause.
ARTWORK IN STORAGE
After 30 days, CoSo is no longer responsible for artwork left in storage. Artists must pick up their artwork during the designated pick-up dates, which are listed on the exhibition schedule. If an artist cannot pick up their work in time, please make other arrangements with the gallery.
Please label the backs of artwork with ONLY your name and the title of the piece.
When submitting artwork for exhibitions, please include the frame in the dimensions.
SALES IN JURIED SHOWS
Buyers may wish to bring home their purchased artwork from juried shows right away. Please notify the gallery if you would like to require that your artwork stays the length of the juried show, although this may risk the loss of a sale.
INTERVIEWS WITH THE PRESS
If you are interviewed by a member of the press, please be sure to mention that you are a member of the Copley Society of Art.
ART COMMISSION INQUIRIES
If you are contacted by an outside party for art commissions, please be sure to ask them how they became familiar with your work. If your work was initially seen at the Copley Society of Art, please refer them to us so that we may process their inquiry.
