Webinar
"CAAHEP Accreditation - From Beginning to End"

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2-3 PM Eastern

Join CAAHEP for the webinar, "CAAHEP Accreditation - From Beginning to End," on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 2:00 PM Eastern time. This session has been created for programs just beginning the CAAHEP accreditation process, those new to accreditation, and/or those wishing to know more about CAAHEP and how the process works. The hour-long webinar is being presented by Kathryn Kuntz, a member of the CAAHEP Board, and Kathleen Megivern, CAAHEP's Executive Director, free of charge. The session will be recorded and available on the CAAHEP website for those unable to attend.

This webinar will take you through the steps of the CAAHEP Accreditation process - from beginning to end. After participating in the session, the goal is for you to know where to find your profession's Standard and Guidelines and how they are used in the accreditation process, understand how to initiate accreditation services, have a grasp of the intermediate steps of the comprehensive review process, learn the difference between initial and continuing accreditation and what is required once you become accredited by CAAHEP.

REGISTER no later than December 2!
Accreditation Actions
Each profession in the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) system has a Committee on Accreditation (CoA) that consists of experts in the profession that are responsible for reviewing programs and making appropriate recommendations for accreditation to CAAHEP. CAAHEP's Board of Directors reviews recommendations received from its CoAs in each profession, assures due process was followed, and takes final action on an accreditation status.

CAAHEP's Board took the following actions at its September 16, 2016 meeting:

CAAHEP/CoAEMSP Require Publication of Outcomes Results
.........................................................................................................................................
Staff Contact: Gordy Kokx, [email protected] or 214-703-8445, x117
.........................................................................................................................................

All programs must publish, preferably in a readily accessible place on their websites, the 3-year review-window average results of the outcomes for: National Registry (or State, as applicable) Written and Practical Exams, Retention, and Positive Placement.

At all times, the published results must be consistent with and verifiable by the online CAAHEP Annual Report of the program.

Each year in the Comments tab of the Annual Report, the program must state the website link (or other publication) where its results are published.

The publication of the outcomes results must be completed no later than December 31, 2016 and the link must be included in the 2016 Annual Report.

Based on the date of your accreditation, if you do not yet have outcomes data for ALL necessary graduate years (graduates in 2013+2014+2015), you do not have the "3-year review window average results;" therefore, the CoAEMSP policy does not yet apply.

The language referenced here is for Standard V.A.4. in the CAAHEP Standards for the EMS Professions:

V. Fair Practices
A. Publications and Disclosure
4. The sponsor must maintain, and make available to the public current and consistent summary information about student/graduate achievement that includes the results of one or more of the outcomes assessments required in these Standards.

Guideline: The sponsor should develop a suitable means of communicating to the communities of interest the achievement of students/graduates (e.g. through a website or electronic or printed documents).
