Call for Facilitators for Transcend Social Justice Retreat
March 15, 2021-April 16, 2021
|
|
Transcend Social Justice Retreat is a brave space for students of all backgrounds to depend their exploration and understanding of issues related to diversity, inclusion, identity, power, privilege, oppression, and activism. This virtual retreat will occur between March 15th - April 16th and free for students. It will provide space for students to engage in advocacy for change through unique forms of activisms. The hope is that through this retreat, students will begin to understand how dynamics of power, privilege, and oppression show up in their lives and on campus, ultimately resulting in a positive influence towards the Auraria and CCA campus climate.
This calling is for artists, activists, students, faculty, staff, and community members to create and facilitate transformative small group discussions, innovative experiences, trainings, programs, and workshops to inspire participants’ own activism!

The Community College of Aurora, which is one of CoCEAL's member institutions, is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.
To receive this designation, institutions must have an undergraduate Hispanic full-time equivalent student enrollment of 25 percent or more. With this designation, CCA applied for, and received, a Title V Grant, which is a federal grant that gives funds to institutions who are HSI. CCA’s Hispanic enrollment is currently at 34% and the grant is used to support programs to help these students be well rounded and successful while attending CCA.
Watch the video for more information on the great work!
