Congratulations to the City of South Fulton on the grand opening of the new Economic Development building located in the Sensational Sixth! We're excited to see the new opportunities this building will bring!

On March 21st Councilwoman Natasha Williams-Brown joined Councilwomen Carmalitha Gumbs (D2) and Helen Willis (D3) in attending the CoSF Police Department's weekly COMPSTAT meeting. Chief Meadows has prioritized inviting city leaders to his weekly leadership meetings to help foster a greater understanding within the city and police department.

COMPSTAT allows the police department leaders to come together to analyze crime data and quality of life concerns to formulate plans to address trends. Chief Meadows also utilizes the data to hold department leaders accountable for their specific areas of responsibility.

On March 21st Councilwoman Natasha Williams-Brown hosted Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington, Jr. for a community town hall about the Fulton County Homestead Exemption. This meeting was an opportunity for residents to learn more about the homestead exemption and how it can benefit you as a homeowner.

On March 22nd Councilwoman Natasha Williams-Brown testified before the Georgia House Subcommittee on Education Policy in support of HB 238, a bill written by students at Renaissance Middle School to pilot a program to put bus monitors on school buses. On March 25th Councilwoman Natasha Williams-Brown was a guest speaker for the Paulding County Democrats monthly meeting. Thank you to county chair Derick F. Jones for the invitation.

WHAT TO PREPARE: Both Singers and Dancers should prepare 16 – 32 bars a Capella. Pop, rock, gospel, or R&B.

SINGERS with strong facility for harmonies, blending and vocal dynamics of musical theatre. Strong Gospel, Pop and R&B voices. Must be strong movers and have a strong comedic flare.

DANCERS proficient in multiple styles including but not limited to ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, etc., (tap and tumbling are a plus). Singing a plus but not mandatory.

Have You Filed Your Homestead Exemption?

Homestead exemptions are a form of property tax relief for homeowners.

Fulton County homeowners can qualify for a variety of homestead exemptions offered through the Fulton County Tax Assessors office. These include basic homestead exemptions as well as homestead exemptions for seniors, low income homeowners, surviving spouses of public safety and military personnel killed in the line of duty, and others.

Homeowners may qualify for different homestead exemptions from the various taxing jurisdictions including school system, cities, and Fulton County. View the 2023 Homestead Exemption Guide by clicking on the button below.

Once granted, exemptions are automatically renewed each year as long as the homeowner continually occupies the property under the same ownership. (One exception is the Fulton County Low Income exemption which the law requires to be renewed every two years).

To be eligible for an exemption, it is mandatory that your meet all requirements.

Note: Fulton County homeowners who are over age 65 and who live outside of the City of Atlanta may be eligible for a new $10,000 homestead exemption providing relief for the Fulton County Schools portion of property taxes. There is no income limit for this exemption. Apply by the April 3 deadline to receive this benefit for the 2023 tax cycle. You may apply through the Fulton County Tax Assessors Office online portal by clicking on the button below or in any office of the Fulton County Tax Assessors Office.
