How Important Is Your Networking?
Besides The Monthly Leader, where do you get your best leadership advice, information, and exposure?

Look around you. Who and what do you surround yourself with? Recently, a friend and I were talking about networking, how rewarding it can be to see who is in your network, and how far within that network you can reach people.  Reaching out is not only meant to see how you can improve your position but also to demonstrate what you can provide – who you are and what your value is. You can refine your leadership through who you know. So, networking is the topic for your monthly check-in.

In this issue, you’ll also find this month's episode of the Coach It Out With Everyday Leaders podcast featuring Anthony G. Barrett. Anthony is Co-Founder of Girls for Technology, an organization which works with under-represented and under-served girls to pursue career paths in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Wilson-Gray YMCA Youth and Family Center in Hartford, CT, and it’s his commitment to his Hartford community which caught my attention. Giving back to one's community is important, but the fact that Anthony returned to his hometown with such diverse contributions is what stands out the most.

    CiO Service Spotlight:
    One-on-One Professional Coaching

During coaching sessions, insight is provided by phone, video-conferencing, or face-to-face meetings in order to guide the client through the situations, thoughts, and improvements they would like to set into play in their development.

During sessions, due to the inquisitive nature of the coaching, the purpose of the client’s initial desire to begin one-on-one coaching might not be what is determined to be the true underlying driver behind the client’s need.

The goal is to help the client recognize the true capabilities and resources within themselves.

    Take It Or Leave It?
    Do You Agree?
"The philosophy of positive thinking means being untruthful," Osho said. "It means being dishonest. It means seeing a certain thing and yet denying what you have seen; it means deceiving yourself and others…"

Is it really denying what you see or, in reality, avoiding what you don't need and seeking out that which you do?
