Debunk some commonly held beliefs about Domestic Abuse
There are many common myths about domestic violence. This October, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Laurel House would like to address some of the most common myths. Debunking these myths and educating others is an important part of our prevention strategy.

Visit the interactive Myths vs Facts page of our website to view some of the most common myths and facts related to domestic abuse.
#GIVELOCAL

Last year through the Amazing Raise, we raised over $1500 in support of our programs that provide services to victims of domestic violence. We need you to help us reach this goal again this year! Would you consider making a gift in any amount?

For every dollar donated to Laurel House through the Amazing Raise, a percentage will be matched. The Amazing Raise is officially on October 30th, however you may make your donation any time from now until the big day on October 30th.

Coaches play an extremely important and influential role in the lives of young adults.
Whether on the field or off, coaches are in a unique position to see things that other adults often do not get to see.

Please join us on Thursday, October 22nd at 7 pm for a virtual training that will discuss how to recognize and support young athletes in abusive relationships. As well as discuss practical tips and tools to use when they believe that an athlete might be in an abusive relationship.

Thanksgiving Countdown

Each year, Laurel House staff work hard to ensure that our clients have what they need to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

This year, because of the increase in those reaching out for help, we need your support more than ever. Laurel House hopes to provide our clients with a turkey or gift card for a turkey this Thanksgiving. However, we are still in need of all the other items for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. We are looking for donations such as:
  • aluminum foil
  • boxed corn bread mix
  • boxed dessert mixes (brownies, cakes, cookies)
  • plastic food storage containers
  • zip lock bags
  • grocery gift cards for fresh items

If you can help, please call us at 610-277-1860 ext. 117 or send us an email.

Or click here for our everyday Wish List.
There is still time to register for this year's 5K run/walk.
If you plan to get out this weekend anyway, why not do it for a good cause?

This year's Wear Purple for Domestic Violence Awareness Day will be observed on Thursday, October 22nd. Join our staff and volunteers as we wear purple to show our support for survivors of domestic abuse.
