HSC and Coalition Partners Speak Out Against PEGs

Memo to Mayor Adams

HSC, Coalition for Homeless Youth, Day Care Council of New York, Homeless Services United, LiveOn NY, New York City Employment and Training Coalition, Supportive Housing Network of New York, and The Health & Housing Consortium, Inc. recently sent a memo to Mayor Adams opposing his proposed PEGs, which totals 15 percent in cuts to City agencies. The memo strongly spoke out about how the cuts will impact communities and reduce essential services for New Yorkers.

The memo calls on the Mayor to 1) Hold Human Services Harmless to PEGs; 2) Conduct a Cost-Benefit Analysis; 3) Invest in the Human Services Sector; and 4) End the Hiring Freeze.

Take Action Against PEGs this Week!

Take a minute to email the Mayor here using our email template to let him know that you oppose PEGs and budget cuts to human services. We've extended the deadline and will keep the campaign open through the end of this week.

Our expectation is for each member organization to send one email, not to fully engage clients/staff on this action. However, you can certainly share with your Board or other leadership if they want to participate as well.
