Agency Spotlight!
Goliad County Sheriff Roy Boyd has been honored with the Defender Award from the American Constitutional Rights Union (ACRU), recognizing his department’s efforts to uphold public safety through collaboration with Federal Immigration Authorities. Goliad County was the first Law Enforcement Agency in the nation to be enrolled in all three versions of the 287(G) programs. He credits his deputies for their dedication in addressing criminal threats linked to cross-border activity.
Sheriff Boyd was elected in 2020 after a 20-year career in Law Enforcement. Seven generations ago, one of Boyd’s ancestors was killed at the Alamo and five were killed at the Battle of Coleto Creek, including a 14-year-old boy. The Goliad Sheriff’s office has 21 deputies and 2 constables. They also participate Operation Lone Star with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Military Department along our Southern Texas Border.
