Coastal Racing is wrapping up quite the weekend in Union, South Carolina for Round 5 of the GNCC Series. With conditions being on the dry side, it made the start more critical than usual and led to some high speed racing over the course of three hours at the "Tiger Run" GNCC.
In the Pro classes, Ricky Russell #212 has made a complete comeback from his viscous injury suffered nearly a year ago. With a good start, Ricky rode a smooth and consistent race to finish on the podium in 2nd O/A and 2nd XC1. In the XC2 division, Johnny Girroir #969 came from behind in the dusty conditions to claim the lead and the win on the final lap. In the XC3 125 Pro-Am class, Ben Parsons #300 made his return to the podium, finishing 3rd in the competitive small bore class.
In the Amateur classes, Lane Whitmer #587 led the charge with yet another 250B and Overall B win. Vet rider Shawn Remington #63 also found his way onto the podium, finishing 2nd 40+ A. Cole Whitmer #518 suffered a hard crash, but salvaged a 14th in 250A while Alex Patterson #232 ended up 16th 4-Stroke Lites A.
