Back in South Carolina, the Tiger Run GNCC saw dry and dusty conditions and shorter lap times, leading to a 7-lap race at the front of the field.
The XC2 class saw eratic results as several top riders suffered from issues this past weekend, including Ryder Lafferty #19 who is coming off a podium performance at the previous round. While battling for a podium spot at the halfway mark, Lafferty crashed big and injured his hand in the process. A big gouge in his hand drew blood and forced Ryder back into the pits to get checked out. Not giving up, he went back out to get a finish and crossed the line 12th XC2.
Cole Whitmer #518 rode a very consistent race to complete all 7-laps while riding in 2nd place, just a touch off the leader from start to finish. Cole's podium consistency this season have him firmly in championship contention as the season progresses. Lane Whitmer #587 had to come back from a rough first lap outside of the Top 10 to nearly win. The penultimate lap saw Lane get into the lead, but he wasn't able to hold on and settled for 2nd after a heroic charge through the pack. Shawn Remington #76 suffered from some issues in South Carolina and was forced to DNF after two laps of racing.
