Back in the southern states for the final time this year, the Grand National Cross Country Series visited Society Hill, SC for the annual Camp Coker GNCC.
Returning from injury, Ricky Russell #212 lined up in the XC1 class despite having minimal riding and prep leading into the weekend. Rocketing off to the holeshot, Russell ran up front on the first lap before settling into a comfortable Top 5 spot through the midway point. At the checkers, Russell crossed the line 6th XC1 and 7th O/A. In XC2, Ryder Lafferty #19 put all the pieces of the puzzle together, riding a smart and controlled race to claim the win in the latter part of the race.
Cole Whitmer #518 had a strong showing in the early parts of the race running in podium position, but a horrendous crash on lap four thrashed the bike and his body, slipping him back to 8th Open A. Lane Whitmer #587 had to come back from another first turn crash this weekend, but tight racing and and struggling to make passes left Lane with a 4th place in 4-Stroke A Lites. Shawn Remington #76 performed per usual, running a steady race to finish 2nd in the 40+ A class.
