The Miracle of the Lime Green Posters (and the Power of Prayer)
Many of you in the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast have followed my challenging health journey in 2025 and have been gracious in praying for me and my wife, Jennifer. This is an attempt to let you know what your prayers meant to me.
I have a blog, https://itinerantpriest.org/, where I have in much greater detail chronicled the first three months of 2025 and this terrible illness I will have for life. If you want the full details, please check out the blog post and Jennifer’s Facebook page. To keep this story from being too lengthy, I will not delve into those details, but I will add the ones below as a way of thanking the people of this wonderful diocese.

Over 50 acolytes gathered at Christ Church Cathedral on Saturday, August 23, for the Diocesan Acolyte Festival! Acolytes learned and grew their skills in this sacred ministry. Plus, they got to have some fun competition in Bishop Russell's Acolyte Olympics. Many thanks to all who joined us, and especially to Christ Church Cathedral for planning and welcoming us with holy hospitality.

Becoming Beloved Community Sacred Conversations Workshop
Saturday, September 6, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT
St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 3200 N 12th Ave, Pensacola
Presented by the Commission on Racial Justice & Reconciliation.
Join us for a workshop that will provide insights into the causes and effects of racism. We explore unconscious bias, prejudice, white privilege, and ways to work together to Become the Beloved Community. This offering is required for those in parish leadership (such as vestries) and at the diocesan level (including serving on commissions, committees, agencies, or boards). It also qualifies for eight hours of clergy training/education for those who complete the full-cay course. There is no fee to participate, but it requires the commitment to be engaged for the full day. Limited to not more than 30 participants, but we must have at least 12 registrants to hold the workshop.
