Together, we are the body of Christ ~ transforming people from members into disciples, moving more deeply into God's call to life and ministry, and extending our mission beyond the status quo.

Note: The Duvall Center office of Bishop Russell and the diocesan staff will be closed on November 28 and 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Additionally, only one Coastline will be published in the month of December on the 11th. The deadline for article submissions is Friday, December 6.

Announcing the 54th Annual Diocesan Convention

Earlier this week, Bishop Russell offered a video message announcing the 54th Annual Diocesan Convention will be at the Destin-Ft. Walton Beach Convention Center on February 21-22, 2025, and hosted by Christ the King, Santa Rosa Beach. Watch the video here.

All are welcome! Details for the convention can be found at www.diocgc.org/2025-diocesan-convention.

We would like to note a version update to the hymn Bishop Russell referenced as the inspiration for this year's theme, "Sing the Love Amazing." The hymn is "O God Beyond All Praising."

Help support the 2024 Navajoland Giving Tree Project

At our recent General Convention, the Episcopal Church in Navajoland became a missionary diocese. Join us in helping to support their mission this Christmas season.

How Can You Help?

  1. Become a Giving Tree Partner: Pick a child’s wish list and shop for their gift. Send your unwrapped gift to our office.
  2. Donate for Goody Bags: Help fund the holiday goody bags filled with traditional treats for our Christmas Eve service. Donate online at ecofnavajoland.org and email us to let us know the donation is for the Holiday Goody Bags.
  3. Make a General Donation: If you can’t shop for a child, a monetary donation helps cover holiday expenses. Donate online at ecofnavajoland.org and email us to let us know the donation is for the Giving Tree Project.

Whether you shop for a specific child or contribute to the goody bags, your generosity will make a huge impact!

Why It Matters

For many of these children, a simple gift or treat can be the highlight of their holiday. It’s a symbol of hope, care, and community—a reminder that we’re all connected through the spirit of giving.

Ready to Make a Difference? Time is running out to join our Giving Tree campaign! Sign up today to become a Giving Tree Partner or contribute to the goody bags.

Seeking Episcopal young adult input in ‘Toward a New Generation of Leaders’ survey

The Episcopal Church’s Department of Faith Formation is seeking survey participants ages 18-32 as part of a three-year, partially grant-funded project to identify the gifts and challenges of Gen Z ministry within the church and enhance program development. The survey—available online here—is open until Dec. 2.

The first phase of data collection, which surveyed parish leaders and Episcopal camp counselors, resulted in these initial findings.

Young adults currently or recently engaged in Episcopal Church activities, particularly those involved with Faith Formation’s youth ministries, young adult and campus ministries, Episcopal Service Corps, and Young Adult Service Corps, are encouraged to respond to this newest survey. Participants will be asked for their impressions, experiences, and recommendations for ministries.
