Together, we are the body of Christ ~ transforming people from members into disciples, moving more deeply into God's call to life and ministry, and extending our mission beyond the status quo.

Note: The Duvall Center Office of the bishop and diocesan staff will be closed on Monday, September 2, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Construction Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic Set for March 2025

If you feel the call to work side by side with a community in need, you might consider joining the 2025 Construction Mission to the Dominican Republic. This mission is more than building structures; it is about building relationships, hope, and a brighter future for our brothers and sisters in need. Through our collective efforts, we will work with local communities, offering our skills, our hearts, and our prayers to support their vision of a more sustainable and thriving community.

If you are skilled in construction and have a heart for service, your presence and participation are invaluable.

MORE DETAILS & APPLICATION

In Case You Missed It

On Saturday, August 18, Holy Trinity, Pensacola members and friends gathered to celebrate the burning of the mortgage on their church building. Senior Warden Sally Crenshaw and the Rev. Jack Murray, retired priest, did the honors. Fr. Murray was rector of Holy Trinity from November 1983 to July 2002, and initiated the building the current church after members had been meeting in various rented spaces. Diocesan staff member, Mary Poss, read this letter from Bishop Kendrick.

Holy Trinity is so thankful for the people who have contributed to making this dream become a reality for their parish. They are now debt-free on their structure. This will have a huge, positive impact on their future ministry efforts. Watch the video here.

On Sunday, August 18, St. Christopher's, Pensacola hosted their annual Rally Day in the Parish Hall. This expo is designed to showcase the diverse ministries throughout the church, as well as encourage parishioners to ask questions and sign up to be involved. Various ministry booths included educational programs, outreach in our community and world, church life, Creation Care, and more. Rally Day marked the kickoff of St. Christopher's 2024-2025 program year.

On Saturday, August 17, Christ Church Cathedral, Mobile hosted the Diocesan Choir Festival. The event is a day of learning and fellowship for choir members from all across the diocese, culminating in a Festival Eucharist. The day was led by the cathedral's organist and choirmaster, Elizabeth Bemis-Gatter, and guest clinician Kyle Ritter, canon for music at All Souls Cathedral in Asheville, NC. Thank you to Blue Room Photography for capturing this special day. View album here.
