Mobile Episcopal Youth Fellowship Mission Trip to the Lakota Sioux Reservation in Rosebud, South Dakota
May 24-31, 2025
All youth from the diocese are invited. The trip is also open to parents and family members.
On this trip, youth will be assisting people of the Lakota Sioux Reservation by working in their food pantry and on several building projects. There will be one rest day where the kids will either raft down a river or go see Mount Rushmore. Plans are still in the process of being made, so more specific details will be available soon.
We expect the cost of the trip to be around $1,200 per person. This would cover travel expenses, food and lodging. We will offer fundraising events to help raise funds. Please contact Jamie or John (see below) if there is a financial need for this trip. We can help! No youth member will be turned away due to financial need.
For more details, or to let us know you want to go, contact: The Rev. Jamie McElroy: jamie@stlukesmobile.org, 769-230-7250 OR The Rev. John Talbert: frjohn@stjohnsmobile.org, 205-354-3699.

In commemoration of Veterans Day, November 11, parishioners of St. Andrew’s, Panama City, who have served in our U.S. Armed Forces—and their family members—were encouraged to bring photographs and mementos of their service. These were displayed with appreciative gratitude in the Parish Hall after the service on Sunday, November 10. | Bishop George Young, confirms a parishioner at All Saints, Mobile on November 3. | |
Strings 4 Heroes, hosted at Epiphany Enterprise, believes in the power of music to uplift and heal our veterans and first responders. Through free music lessons, loaner instruments, and instrument assistance, they offer meaningful ways for our heroes to spend their time.
This charity, an extension of the new Enterprise Veteran’s Home, is using the Epiphany Parish Hall on Tuesday and Thursday evenings each week to provide guitar lessons. The Epiphany family is also providing financial support for the purchase of guitars and necessary music equipment. Photo by Travis Parker, founder of Strings4Heroes.

Seeking Episcopal young adult input in ‘Toward a New Generation of Leaders’ survey
The Episcopal Church’s Department of Faith Formation is seeking survey participants ages 18-32 as part of a three-year, partially grant-funded project to identify the gifts and challenges of Gen Z ministry within the church and enhance program development. The survey—available online here—is open until Dec. 2.
The first phase of data collection, which surveyed parish leaders and Episcopal camp counselors, resulted in these initial findings.
Young adults currently or recently engaged in Episcopal Church activities, particularly those involved with Faith Formation’s youth ministries, young adult and campus ministries, Episcopal Service Corps, and Young Adult Service Corps, are encouraged to respond to this newest survey. Participants will be asked for their impressions, experiences, and recommendations for ministries.
