Together, we are the body of Christ ~ transforming people from members into disciples, moving more deeply into God's call to life and ministry, and extending our mission beyond the status quo.

Ongoing Hurricane/Disaster Relief Efforts

100% of donations given to the Hurricane/Disaster Relief Fund will be used to support response and recovery efforts in areas impacted by the recent hurricanes. Funds given the DioCGC will go directly to the affected dioceses for distribution as they see fit. Funds given to Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) will be used to support partners on the ground with critical supplies, such as food and water, pastoral care and other urgent needs in addition to ongoing recovery efforts.

Thank you for your generosity.

Project Neighbors: 6 Part Series on Finding One Another Again

About Project Neighbors

In a time of deep division and rising tension, how do we recapture the ethic of loving our neighbor? The Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast invites you to join "Project Neighbors," a six-week video reflection series aimed at rediscovering hope, compassion, and connection.

Beginning October 8, each week’s session will focus on a key biblical value—hospitality, sacrifice, gratitude, compassion, and peace—guiding us toward healing and understanding. Through personal stories, scripture, and reflection, we’ll explore how these timeless principles can lead us back to each other in love. Whether you join individually or in a group, we invite you to walk with us as we seek to remember what truly matters: loving our neighbors as ourselves.

On Tuesday mornings, a 4-5 minute video and study guide will be made available. You can find them on this page or by subscribing to the email. Members of our staff will also host an online conversation (on Thursdays at noon on Zoom) for further dialogue so that we can hear your ideas and learn with you. And while this series comes to you as our election approaches, it is a series that does not carry an expiration date.

Let’s journey together toward a more hopeful horizon. Parts 1, 2, and 3 are now available.

In Case You Missed It

On October 8, Bishop Russell blessed the newly installed labyrinth at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, Navarre. The labyrinth was an Eagle Scout project by Gavin Brown of Troop 106. Gavin researched labyrinths, developed a project plan that was reviewed by the church's vestry as well as his Scout leaders and approved by both. He then obtained funding on his own and arranged for volunteers to assist in the construction. St. Augustine members say the labyrinth is a wonderful addition to there church landscape and will continue to provide a refuge for prayer and meditation for many years.

On Sunday, October 6, the parishioners at Good Shepherd, Mobile wore pink in thanksgiving of their courageous breast cancer survivors.  A special blessing was given by Fr. Ken Cumbie and a luncheon was held in their honor, celebrating 'Love, Hope and Courage' sponsored by the Women of the Church.

Bishop Russell spent a little time at the kids' table during his annual visit to Holy Trinity, Pensacola, on October 13.

Children join Bishop Russell for the benediction during his annual visit to St. Simon's by the Sea, Fort Walton Beach, on October 20.

The Wacked Out Weiner hot dog food truck was on site as well!
