October 11, 2023
|
|
Together, we are the body of Christ ~ transforming people from members into disciples, moving more deeply into God's call to life and ministry, and extending our mission beyond the status quo.
Note: The Duvall Center will be closed on Friday, October 20, for a Staff Retreat Day.
Please continue to pray for the safe return of St. Paul's, Daphne Pilgrimage team who are in Israel. Read Bishop Russell's message HERE.
And please continue to pray for those in the midst of war whose lives have been lost, for those whose lives have been torn apart, and pray for peace.
Collect for the Human Family
O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

BayLights Photo Album Now Available
There was a great turnout at Beckwith's annual BayLights fundraiser event. In addition to live music, fun fellowship, and amazing food, a groundbreaking ceremony was held to celebrate the new pavilion being built next to Wilson Hall. The construction of the much-needed event space is made possible by the Go Forward Campaign and is part of several improvements happening on the campus of our diocesan camp and conference center.
Many thanks to all who attended the weekend and supported the mission and ministry of Beckwith!

The National Acolyte Festival was held last week at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. St. James, Fairhope, and Christ the King, Santa Rosa Beach, proudly represented our diocese.
To celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, many congregations participate in pet blessings to honor our furry, feathered, scaly, and, yes, prehistoric (there's one dinosaur sighting) family members that we love and cherish. Above is a sampling of photos taken from across our animal-loving diocese!
