We are excited to announce that the Okaloosa Island Pier underwater camera is now streaming live!! Visit the link below to see all the critters that call the pier home.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFHoNAZ-8Cw

Disclaimer: we are going to continue monitoring the stream and will address network or equipment issues as quickly as possible. There is a mechanical "wiper" that keeps biofouling (algae, barnacles, etc.) off the glass. There might be times you see it passing by during its routine cleaning or there might be times it stops in the view of the camera. Don't worry, it will move out of the way on its next cleaning routine.

Take a moment to let us know how Okaloosa County government is communicating with you.

City Code Enforcement Team moves to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department

In August, the City’s Code Enforcement divsion was moved from the Growth Management Department to the Police Department. The code enforcement staff and their contact emails and telephone numbers are the same, but they now operate as part of the Police Department and work out of the Police Station at 7 Hollywood Boulevard NE.

“By bringing code enforcement into the community policing unit, we bridge the gap between public safety and quality-of-life concerns,” said Police Chief Robert Bage. “Many of these challenges stem from the same underlying issues, and by leveraging resources together, we can create lasting solutions. This partnership not only upholds the standards that keep neighborhoods safe and healthy, but also builds trust, strengthens relationships, and empowers residents to take pride in their communities.”

The City of Fort Walton Beach’s Code Enforcement Team members are pictured here (right to left): Police Lt. Troy Williams, Burt Rhodes, senior code inspector, Rich Taylor, code inspector and Nicholas Driver, code and police records administrator. Not pictured is Code Inspector Ed Moore.
