Chairman's Corner

Stacey Abrams and the Democrats are still LYING about the 2018 elections.
|
|
|
To make matters worse, the current field of Democratic candidates, like Beto in the Tweet above, are echoing the lie.
While the Cardinal Law of propaganda, often attributed to Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels, is, "
Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth,"
psychologist Tom Stafford told the BBC in 2016
, "Repetition makes a fact seem more true, regardless of whether it is or not."
Stafford adds, "Understanding this effect can help you avoid falling for propaganda."
The most amazing fact about the Democrats' accusations of voter suppression is the truth is the counties with the most voter irregularities in 2018 were the counties where the Democrats controlled the Boards of Election. In Georgia, like every state, it's the local counties that count the votes and then report those votes to the Secretary of State.
However, this fact hasn't seemed to slow down the constant drum-beat of falsehood, or the fundraising solicitations attached to it. The Democratic campaign against the suppression that never was seems designed to con thousands of people out of their hard earned money to support partisan operations masquerading as non-partisan, tax-deductible “voting rights” groups.
Meanwhile, Stacey makes herself rich and somehow STILL doesn’t pay her back taxes. If her organization was a for-profit business, it would be shut down for fraudulent advertising.
In Cobb County, a county where Republicans do have the majority on the Board of Elections, we experienced extra long waits in the run-up to and on Election Day. The Democrats say this was more proof of Republican tampering.
Except it was because of a Democrat, Jon Ossoff, that Cobb was missing half of the county's voting machines.
Wait, what? Don;t remember Stacey Abrams or the Georgia Democrats mentioning that, did you. Well, you would have had to read the
MDJ on November 7:
"But Cobb is missing between 600 and 700 of its approximately 2,000 voting machines, according to [Cobb Elections Director Janine] Eveler, the result of a federal court order stemming from a 2017 case. Following last year’s special election between U.S. Rep. Karen Handel, R-Roswell, and Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff, a lawsuit was filed against Fulton, DeKalb and Cobb counties as well as the state of Georgia, Eveler said."
It would seem here that it is in fact the Democrats suppressing the vote by eliminating half of the county's voting machines, which should be of no surprise to anyone who knows the history of the Democratic Party.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has attempted to once again dispel the ridiculous claims from the nation's biggest sore loser since Al Gore.
Writing in
an op-ed this week
, Raffensperger notes, "
Voters of all demographic groups turned out in record numbers for the 2018 midterm elections, with total turnout nearly matching turnout in the 2016 presidential election. The voting eligible population turnout rate for 2018 was 55%, significantly higher than the 2014 midterm (38.6%) and the 2010 midterm (40.6%). In 2018, African American voter turnout increased 32.5% compared to the 2014 midterm. Hispanic voter turnout increased 97.7%, and Asian American voter turnout increased 98.2%. Ms. Abrams has claimed even higher increases, claiming that African American participation increased by 40% between 2014 and 2018 and that Hispanic and Asian-American turnout tripled. She claims these numbers are 'more accurate than census data.'”
For those of us frustrated that people may continue to believe Abrams's and the Democrats repeated fairy tales, there is a bit of hope.
The BBC further posits, "The repetition effect couldn’t mask the truth. With or without repetition, people were still more likely to believe the actual facts as opposed to the lies. This shows something fundamental about how we update our beliefs – repetition has a power to make things sound more true, even when we know differently, but it doesn't over-ride that knowledge."
Raffensperger throws out some hard truths to Abrams and her allies, "Even the Brennan Center for Justice, which is normally politically aligned with Ms. Abrams and her comrades, could not ignore the data on these issues. They concluded that Georgia’s automated voter registration has been the most successful in the country, almost doubling the rate of registrations. They further conclude that automated voter registration 'keeps voter rolls more accurate, reduces errors that cause delays on Election Day, and lowers costs by allowing states to save money on printing, mailing, and data entry.'"
While facts won't move those on the left who either believe Abrams's fairy tales because they are so blinded by their hyper-partisanship, they will believe anything their left-winged lieges spoon out to them, or are so hopelessly invested in the lie that both pride and ego will keep them repeating the mantra long after its has been utterly repudiated, the rest of us will see the facts don't support the narrative, and will move on.
Fairy tales are nice for children, but eventually you have to grow up. Time for the Democrats to do so.
