Cocoa with a Cop at Lovewell Tea & Coffee warms up the holiday season

Ventura, Calif. — The community is invited to join the Ventura Police Department for coffee, cocoa, and conversation at ‘Cocoa with a Cop’ This festive event will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at Lovewell Tea & Coffee, located at 2271 N. Ventura Avenue, Unit G, in west Ventura.

Community engagement is vital year-round, and during the holiday season, it’s even more special. Cocoa with a Cop is a great way to increase trust, strengthen partnerships, and support small businesses.

“Whether you’re a curious resident looking for personal safety information, a parent wanting to get involved in community events, or a business owner interested in community safety, this is an event where you can get answers,” shared Police Chief Darin Schindler. “We’re not just here to protect and serve. We also want to connect and build a stronger, safer community together.”

Most resident interactions with Ventura Police Officers occur during high-stress or emergency situations. Those moments aren’t always conducive to building strong relationships through friendly conversation. Cocoa with a Cop melts away those barriers, offering a relaxed, one-on-one opportunity to interact with the Chief of Police and officers who service Ventura’s neighborhoods.
