CodeRED emergency notification system available for free

SARASOTA COUNTY - A free emergency notification service is available to all residents living in unincorporated Sarasota County, regardless of whether you are a property owner, business owner, or a renter.

The CodeRED emergency system allows you to receive calls, email alerts or text messages in the event of an emergency that could impact your neighborhood or your business. Alerts include water or sewer interruptions, missing person alerts and major traffic detours, among others.

The system, which could help you to protect your family and property, is available for free by visiting www.scgov.net, and clicking the CodeRED notification registration under Emergency Services at the bottom of the page.

To register, you just need to enter your first and last name, physical address and primary phone numbers.

For more information call the Sarasota County Contact Center at 941-861-5000 and ask about CodeRED registration. Additional information will also be available in an upcoming monthly utility bill.
