A Prophet?
During our annual meeting on January 30th, I threw in a short prayer in the form of “Go Rams!” Someone online mentioned that the Cincinnati Bengals needed help, so I added a “Go Bengals!”
Now, I’m not claiming to be a prophet or to have some special powers of prayer, but both teams ARE in the Super Bowl . . . just saying. If football’s your thing, I hope it’s an exciting match-up.
BUT... before the big game, there is church. Just as there will be a titanic struggle in Inglewood this Sunday, in our service we will be reminded of the struggle between the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked – who will be victorious? We will also have special music in honor of Black History Month from David and Femi Knight. Finally, we welcome the return of our unofficial third sacrament – COFFEE HOUR! A good word, great music, and some delicious coffee should set you up for the game.
As a reminder, we still require you to wear a medical-type (not cloth) or K/N95 mask while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. We also encourage you to social distance by family group as much as possible. We hope you will consider joining us in person, but please watch us online if you are more comfortable doing so.
In the next few weeks, we are looking to bring back our 8:00 service, choir, Sunday School, and nursery. We could use volunteers for all these programs, so please speak to me or a member of the staff to learn how you can help.
Enjoy the game, and for the record, I am not going to make any prophecies about the Super Bowl. But I know this – God will show up at St Francis on Sunday. Will you?
