Goodbye Sunny September and Hello October
September's summer weather may be behind us as we welcome October's crisp and chilly fall weather, but this campaign is just starting to heat up!

September was full of festivities, celebrations, and hot topic meetings. District 4 is such a diverse part of Monterey County and there are so many important issues that need to be recognized, discussed and solutions found for. That is why I am co-hosting several small coffee meetings in our area to meet members of the community and learn more about the issues we are all facing. This past month, Seaside leaders Pastor Ken Murray, Al Glover, and Helen Rucker all hosted coffee meetings with me to discuss homelessness, housing and job growth. If you or your neighbor are interested in co-hosting a future coffee with me, be sure to e-mail Rachel here

Every week our list of supporters grow. With each supporter, voter, friend and neighbor that endorses me for County Supervisor, we get a little closer to victory on March 3rd, 2020 . If you haven't had the chance, please Endorse Here today. As you know, this is a grassroots campaign, which means that this campaign is entirely supported by people like you.
Every dollar raised, every endorsement made, every volunteer stuffing an envelope and every coffee meeting held in a living room helps this campaign thrive. If you would like to get involved, please e-mail Tabitha here or you can also donate here .

My family and I want to thank you for all of your support and encouragement thus far. We still have a ways to go, but I am confident we will get there! Will you join me?
El Grito Parade - Salinas
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
This last month I was able to participate in the El Grito Parade in Salinas. It was a great way to celebrate the independence of Mexico and honor Hispanic Heritage month. There is so much to be celebrated about this culture!
Service Spotlight- Sand City
Coastal Clean-up Day
Mayor Mary Ann Carbone hosted a local beach cleanup in Sand City as part of the international Coastal Clean-up day.

I was so inspired by this clean-up and all the groups that came out to help, including our local chapter of Save the Whales and Monterey High School's very own Guardians of the Planet!
I was on the Radio!

Homeless Solutions - Seaside
Coffee with Pastor Murray
This was a really great way to discuss the challenge of Homelessness in Seaside. Getting everyone in a room together to share their ideas and experiences is so important.

Our co-host, Pastor Murray , shared some very important insight on possible solutions. He is doing some great work with the homeless at Oceanview Baptist in Seaside right now!

Want to make a difference? Co-host a coffee like Pastor Murray!

A "Soiree for Steve" - Marina
Campaign Fundraiser
Thank you Harvey Dadwal and Jeff Davi for hosting an absolutely wonderful event!

I am so grateful for everyone that came out and showed their support for my campaign at the Springhill Suites in Marina last Thursday.

It is events like these that inspire this campaign and allow me to run for County Supervisor.

Please make a contribution of any dollar amount today if you would like to show your support and ensure a better future for our families here in District 4 of Monterey County.
Community Yard Sale
-East Garrison
This is a great way to get to know your neighbors and ultimately makes neighborhoods safer. These community events are important and I want to make it easier for these events to take place.

As County Supervisor, my commitment will be to attend and facilitate regular meetings with the county government that serves this area. There's a lot of questions from people regarding the services, and I am anxious to get to work!
Clean Energy Event - Seaside Community Meeting
This last monday I was part of a community event to discuss clean energy in Monterey County. Mayor Oglesby welcomed everyone and kicked-off the meeting. Congressman Jimmy Panetta , San Juan Bautista City Councilman-John Freeman , and Pete Scudder of Scudder Roofing joined me in giving brief presentations and answered questions regarding the county's eco-friendly changes.

Thank you to Scudder Solar Roofing, Monterey Transit Services, Monterey Bay Air Regional District, Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments, Monterey Bay Community Power, McShane's Landscape Supply, the 2020 Census Bureau, and to everyone that attended and participated!
