September 6- What's on your Heart? | Pastor Damon Relder
This Labor Day weekend we are in for a special treat as Pastor Damon Relder leads us through Psalm 20 and various other scriptures. Pastor Damon will reference a myriad of scriptures in the sermon and they can be found at the attached scripture list below. This week, instead of the standard "Discussion," "Going Deeper" and "Application," we are all invited to follow a daily devotional and scripture readings for each day are listed below.

Sunday
"Seek God". Deuteronomy 4:29 says, "seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul."

Monday
Ask God to search your heart. Psalm 139:23-24 says, "Search me God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Tuesday
Ask God to cleanse anything offensive to Him. Psalm 51:10 says this - "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me."

Wednesday
It is not enough to just let God sweep all the filth away. We need to have hearts that see the evil coming at us. Wee need hearts that discern. In 1 Kings 3:9, Solomon, son of Kind David, has been given a choice by God to ask for anything he wants now that he is king. Rather than ask for gold or power, Solomon says, "Give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong."

Thursday
Now that your heart is cleansed and focused on God, let your heart burn within you. On the day of resurrection, two disciples met the risen Lord on the road to Emmaus. Neither of them recognized him as they walked along and Jesus talked about God's word with them. After they recognized who he was they commented to one another, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:32)

Friday
Invite Christ in your heart to dwell there, not just visit from time to time. Ephesians 3:16-17 Paul says this prayer about the people, "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith."

Saturday
Read the words of Colossians 2:2, "My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
