CHAMBER UPDATES | March 29th | |
Chamber Leaders-
In an election year where our country has very serious political leadership decisions to make that will affect the country and the globe, I am reminded that four years ago today, we were in a very different place. I had just relocated from Illinois to accept this leadership role and at the time wondered, like the rest of us, where we might end up. The following is an excerpt from my April 1, 2020, chamber newsletter:
As the COVID-19 news continues to pour in from our local media sources, Governor DeWine & President Trump's daily briefings, and national news outlets, it is important to recognize the seriousness that seems to be consistent across Ohio and the Tri-State area. (note: it certainly got worse before it got better.)
Our mental health is so important in all of this, and as one reporter put it, physical distancing does not necessarily equate to "social distancing." To that end, the Colerain Chamber of Commerce, along with so many other organizations, is implementing Zoom Conferencing that allows us to connect with one another via voice & video. (note: most of us changed the paradigm we knew and shifted our thinking due to the circumstances)
If you recall the seriousness of my messages back then, you realize that there have been lighter topics that have been addressed in my monthly newsletter, including the Reds opening day, March Madness Bracket-busters, and flowers popping their heads out looking for that first sign of Spring. I continue to implore business owners of all types, shapes, and sizes to continue to recognize the following:
- Regardless of where your business is today, it can certainly get worse or it might become even better.
- Where are you today relative to the circumstances in the market? When you can, seek an outside perspective.
- Consider a paradigm change for your business and embrace fresh solutions and new opportunities.
Just as I was four years ago, please know that I'm here as a resource to help your business flourish in these challenging times. We look forward to the upcoming Leadership Summit on April 10th, the Third Thursday at Germania on April 18th, and the Hometown Hero event, which will be held on June 13th. We are excited about the upcoming Colerain edition of the Cincy Magazine as well.
Thanks.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3rd

Exiting News
This month we are touring the Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub
911 Evans Street, 45204
If you have not heard of the Hub , you will not be disappointed in this tour!
The Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub reduces the amount of waste going to landfills through the one-stop drop-off location where they accept items and materials that are recyclable and reusable, even some that are not permitted in traditional recycling bins with Rumpke. The one-stop model is unique in that it saves time, effort, and gas for donors, and it allows for more items to be recycled or reused than the current waste/recycling/reuse infrastructure for the Greater Cincinnati Area does. The Hub is the only organization in Greater Cincinnati accepting such a vast amount of items for the general public to recycle in one place.

LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10th
8:30 AM - 10:00 AM VIRTUAL
The Leadership Summit brings together community leaders for the expressed purpose of creating a learning environment for all chamber members.

Creating a winning culture within an organization is about creating an environment where success is not just celebrated, but expected. It’s a culture that thrives on challenges, values continuous improvement, and encourages every team member to push beyond their limits. A winning culture is built on the foundation of clear goals, open communication, and mutual respect. It’s where innovation is the norm, and setbacks are seen as opportunities for growth. In such a culture, employees are motivated to excel because they know their contributions are recognized and pivotal to the collective success of the team. As we gather for this seminar, let’s explore how we can cultivate this mindset and transform our work environment into a dynamic and thriving space where everyone is a champion in their own right.
