CHAMBER UPDATES | JULY 28, 2023
Chamber Members-

Investment in the Colerain Chamber is just that, it is an investment. It can be an investment of your time to attend various events and annual dues or sponsorship. Whether you've invested over the last 9 years consistently or just decided to do so over the last year or two, finding value in that investment is what is likely most important to you, right?

The adage that business leaders should be investing 20% of their time ON their business while spending 80% of their time IN the business is as true today as it ever was. My hope is that you are able to find places to plug in through the chamber and that we can be that place where your investment pays off. One such opportunity is the upcoming John C Maxwell Live2Lead leadership program sponsored through Mercy Health West Hospital. At this event, you will not only hear from national leaders like Kendra Scott, Marcus Buckingham and Ryan Leak, as well as John C Maxwell himself, but you will also hear from local leaders Amy Spiller (Duke Energy), Brad Bertke (Mercy Health) and Rob Clippard (Clippard Instrument Laboratories) who will be involved in a leadership discussion that morning. You will find all of the details about this event in the newsletter below.

Are you investing in your business's "curb appeal"? If so, you may see a SNAZZY Award in your future. The Snazzy awards have been a fun way this summer to celebrate businesses across the community that are doing an excellent job of making their location beautiful to look at. Sometimes, this can be as simple as picking up the litter, putting down new mulch and adding fresh flowers, or in the instance of Red Lobster, simply putting a fresh coat of paint on your building. You will see some SNAZZYs highlighted below, in our social media and through yard signs posted in front of businesses recognized.

Finally, the Colerain Chamber's extensive growth over the last three years has come as a result of YOU inviting others to participate. Please continue to share our message, our mission, and our extensive event schedule with those you think might benefit. You can simply forward our newsletter, make an introduction on our behalf, or bring a friend/neighbor to our next event. While we don't have printed brochures, there is a plethora of information on our website and through our Facebook/LinkedIn pages.

For those traveling on vacation this summer, enjoy your time away!

All the best!
Dave

CHAMBER & COMMUNITY UPDATES
COLERAIN HIGH SCHOOL'S 100TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Colerain High School will be celebrating its 100th anniversary during the 2023 – 2024 school year. Since its first class in 1925, more than 32,000 students have graduated from Colerain. The Class of 2024 will be the 100th graduating class.

The Colerain Boosters and Alumni Association have formed a committee to plan events throughout the coming year that highlight the rich history of the school. From academics to performing arts to athletics, Colerain’s students have excelled and brought notoriety to the school and community over the years. Alumni have used their education in many ways as they entered the workforce, served in the military or continued their education in college. Regardless of the path chosen, the common thread for each graduate was the solid foundation and support provided by their dedicated teachers, counselors, coaches and administrators.

To bring attention to this milestone in the community, the committee is working with Colerain Township to produce banners that will be displayed on the light posts at the intersection of Colerain Avenue and Springdale Road. The banners will highlight academic, performing arts, athletic and career accomplishments of Colerain students and alumni. The Boosters are soliciting local businesses to assist with the cost of the banners and to become a partner in celebrating the school’s centennial graduating class.

Listed below are examples of the events that will be held:

Centennial Celebration Kickoff - Tuesday, August 8
Athletic Hall of Fame Induction - Friday, September 1
Distinguished Graduate Recognition - Friday, September 15
Cornerstone 100th Anniversary Commemoration - Sunday, October 1
Open House - Thursday, April 19, 2024
