CHAMBER UPDATES | DECEMBER 29, 2023

Chamber Members and Investors-

In last month's newsletter we detailed the various programs and events that were coming in 2024. We hope that you are able to participate in those that are a fit for you, and that you find a place to plug-in on a monthly basis. We have exciting plans in January and February when many other chambers are taking a hibernation.

Some dates to remember:

  • January 6th is the Cincinnati Cyclones Hockey Family Night - Tickets are still available, but are limited.
  • February 11th is the first annual Superbowl Watch Party held at SportzTown on Colerain Avenue. If you're looking to hang out with some fun people, eat great food, and enjoy the game, SportzTown is the spot!
  • February 14th is the Colerain Chamber's First Leadership Summit which will follow the successful format of our Sales Summit. Be sure to register for this online Zoom call, especially if you are a business owner looking to tap into the most current trends and fresh ideas. More information is included below.
  • February 15th is the Colerain Chamber's Annual Awards Dinner. (Nominees listed below) Additional announcements about Award nominees will be made next week so please watch for them on Social Media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) . As we have done the last two years, we will again have a Chamber Choice award in which all of our membership will have a chance to vote.

We are also excited to announce that the Colerain Chamber's Foundation has been approved for its 501c(3) non-profit status. This will benefit our community in a variety of ways that the chamber itself has not been able to. We have strong leadership on the foundation board with Allen Walls (Colerain Fire), Kathie Currier (Coldwell Banker), Toni Smith (Art on Fire) and Ryna Rajagopal (Total Quality Childcare Center). More information will be coming in 2024, so please watch for those announcements.

Our new board of directors will include incoming leaders: Jim Diebold, Andrea Corry, Nancy Hollenkamp, and Brandon Robertson. Our board leadership roles will be: Susan Bennet (chair), Rick Porotsky (vice-chair), Brandon Robertson (treasurer) and Dean Ferrier (secretary). We are blessed with an amazing board and hope you feel the same way.

Finally, as 2023 draws to a close for the calendar year, please understand that the chamber in our community continues to evolve and that as one of the youngest chambers in all of Ohio, we need your support to keep up the momentum. If you are unsure where best to fit in, contact me directly.

All the best!

Dave

TEAM UP TO GREEN UP ~ COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY AWARD

Congratulations to Compton Recycling for being awarded the first Community Sustainability Award! This new award is to spotlight those in our community that are dedicated to fostering eco-friendly practices and are making positive impacts within their communities with the pursuit of sustainable solutions.

Compton Recycling Company's unique approach to recycling and repurposing is commendable. By framing the recycling process as an opportunity for individuals to earn income, they've found a way to incentivize participation even among those who may not initially be motivated by environmental concerns.

Additionally, Compton Recycling's Community "Giving Fence" is a shining example of how businesses can also play an active role in social responsibility and environmental consciousness. This initiative provides warm garments for bus riders, walkers, as well as drivers passing by; it is open to everyone. The Giving Fence is an inspiration for other businesses and community members to consider creative ways to give back and make a difference in the lives of those around them.

To recycle with Compton Recycling or help them with their giving fence,

visit Drew Hughes at 2551 Compton Road.
