⭐Business of the Year
Cincinnati Ohio Police Federal Credit Union (COPFCU)
COPFCU, established in 1935, is a longstanding supporter of the Colerain Chamber and an integral part of the Colerain Township community. COPFCU offers unique programs at Northwest & Colerain High Schools, providing onsite banking services run by students and hosting the annual Adulting 101 course for both schools. Each year they award scholarships to local students and support future leaders by offering mentoring & internships.
⭐New Business - Rising Star
The Help Squad
Founded by retired police officer, Brian Ibold in 2020, The Help Squad provides invaluable support for families in need. The Help Squad, a registered 501 (c)3 mainly focusses on struggling single moms and dads, and financially stressed families through economic assistance and services. Included among the notable effects in 2023, was the assistance to Carson West and his family. Brian and his team of volunteers continue to build relationships with other organizations in the community including e-Life Ministries.
⭐Beautification & Community Investment
State Farm Agency – Mark Miklautsch
Mark Miklautsch - State Farm Agency is recently purchased and renovated his new office space at 5636 Springdale Rd. (formerly Peach Grove Animal Hospital). Mark and his team have been a staple in the Colerain Community since becoming a State Farm Insurance agent in 2006. Thank you for your investment in our community!
⭐Business Leader
Mike Long, CPA & Managing Partner of Long Schaefer & Company, Inc.
Mike, a CPA and Personal Financial Services Advisor, established his accounting firm in 1990 and remains dedicated to serving the Colerain area. A proud alum of Colerain HS, he purchased and renovated his new business location at the corner of Compton and Colerain. Mike is actively involved in the community in a variety of ways by contributing his expertise and financial support to foster business success within the community.
⭐Community Impact
New Hope Community Church & Table of Hope
Table of Hope is a key component of New Hope Community Church which provides weekly food pantry services to families in need across the community. Through the church ministry team and its care facility, women in crisis are served and marriage counseling takes place on a regular basis. The center also serves for training of foster children's programs and provides services that allow grieving families to be comforted after the loss of a child or loved one, making a significant impact on families.
⭐Colerain Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame Inductees
Gary Schroeder, DVM (Nate's Toy Box)
Gary Schoeder is a respected leader and has been honored for his lifelong dedication to the Colearin community. He graduated from Colerain HS in 1968 and continued his education at OSU, earning a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1975. Gary owned and operated the Peach Grove Animal Hospital on Springdale Road until his retirement in 2014. In memory of their son Nate, who passed away in 2005, Gary and his wife Pam established Nate's Toy Box in 2006, bringing joy to countless families during the Christmas season. He is also involved with several local organizations.
Jeff Webeler (White Oak Gardens)
Jeff Webeler along with his wife Patty have been the owners of White Oak Gardens since 1979. The Webelers have grown their business into the largest independent garden center located inside of the I-275 loop. Jeff has long been a strong supporter of both community and industry associations staying active in many community groups. They have invested on Blue Rock Rd over the years by developing White Oak into one of the top garden center and landscape companies in Cincinnati and a pillar in Colerain.
⭐Business Student of the Year
Noah Denson
(Northwest High School - Butler Tech)
Noah is a senior at Northwest HS and a second-year student in the Financial Services program offered through Butler Tech. Noah has been able to maintain a near-perfect GPA throughout his four years in high school while being incredibly involved in the school and community; he is ranked #2 in his class. Noah volunteers as a manager of the Knights Credit Union, where he teaches financial literacy skills to peers and works with our special needs students. Noah is also an active member of U-Knighted Knights, Young Life, and Orchestra at Northwest. Outside of school, Noah co-ops at COPFCU as a teller.
Kevin Bolanos Gonzalez
(Northwest High School - Butler Tech)
Kevin is a junior at Northwest HS that maintains an impressive A average as a student-athlete. As a sophomore Kevin defied expectations by running for DECA State Officer—an uncommon feat for a sophomore. Despite delivering a meticulously memorized 2-minute speech to a crowd of over 500 peers and teachers, victory eluded him. Undeterred, he is gearing up for another run in 2024 by serving as the Northwest DECA Chapter President. Kevin and three peers secured 2nd place in the 6th annual MSJ Business Competition.
⭐Chamber Choice Award
Patty Markus, North Side Bank & Trust
Patty Markus has been an employee at North Side Bank since 1971. She has held various positions at the main office in Northside, as well as in the Finneytown and the Colerain offices. Throughout her tenure, she has been actively involved in serving the community and helping organize fundraisers and outings for the Clippard YMCA. Her contributions have been remarkable, and she retired this year after 51 years at North Side Bank.
