CHAMBER UPDATES | APRIL 30, 2025
Dear Chamber Leaders,
April Showers bring May flowers...we've all heard that saying over the years. Certainly, if you want to do so, all that's necessary is a short drive to White Oak Gardens, Arlington Memorial Cemetery, or a trip to any one of a number of local parks. I highly recommend getting out and enjoying the season in whatever way you choose.
The stresses in the market today are challenging. Tariffs, inflation, workforce availability, governmental regulation, deregulation, and political rhetoric only add to that stress. In good times and in bad, true business entrepreneurship is marked by resilience and innovation. Five years ago, we were all looking for ways to combat the business challenges around COVID-19, and look at how much further ahead you've come.
If you spend any length of time with me, you will recognize that I'm not just an optimist, but someone who takes action in most cases. I don't generally sit around and wait for things to change, but rather look for ways to lean into or embrace the environment in front of me. In my published book, Echoes Across the Tracks, the main character, Charlie, suggests that there are three types of people: Those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened.
There is some truth to that statement from a business perspective, and if we sit around and watch things happen, we often find ourselves...well...wondering what happened. My suggestion is to DO! Do something in volatile times. Seek advice from those in the know (bankers, financial advisors, other business leaders) and set a course of action that is in your best interest. If I can help point you in the right direction, please let me know.
We have so many events listed below, I can't do them justice with a single paragraph. All I can do is suggest that you plug in and take advantage of all our community has available. The Hometown Hero is our next significant event on June 19th, but we have many other events between now and then.
- Connect with others in our community.
- Celebrate milestones of all kinds.
- Support one another in a way that is pleasing to everyone around you.
All the best!

T
Beers & Biz is a monthly B2B Networking event that includes monthly topical roundtable discussions and open networking.

The location changes monthly, and we will update our monthly calendar.
