Chamber Leaders-
As many of you have come to find out, I will be retiring from my role as President of the Colerain Chamber of Commerce in a few months. To some, that has come as a surprise, and to others, it is not unexpected because they understood that I wasn't going to lead the chamber forever. I am excited about the momentum we have, and I look forward to staying involved in some way.
In last month's opening newsletter, I shared several statistics about where we are as a chamber, and to characterize our journey, I'll share three general comments based on many observers of our progress:
- "Dave, the Colerain Chamber has been transformative to this side of town since you arrived in February 2020. With all the events the chamber hosts, there are so many places to plug in. Thank you for bringing your energy to our community.
- "We love the mural and are glad that the chamber stepped up to lead that project. It will brighten the community for years to come."
- "It happened quite organically that the Colerain Chamber has become the connecting point to schools, local government, non-profits, and our community businesses. Keep up the good work!"
As most of you know, I have been available for coffee conversations, met at your businesses, and grabbed lunch or breakfast with many of you, all while being out in the community for nearly six years now.
Patti and I are not moving. We love Colerain, our home, and the friendships we've made. We've even been rooting for the Reds to make the playoffs, along with my beloved Cubs and that wish came to fruition this weekend.
In January, we hosted a successful series, "Coffee in Colerain with Dave," at Panera Bread. I'm excited to share that I will again be available on Monday mornings in October (6th, 13th, 20th, 27th) from 9am-10am at Panera Colerain, to talk about local issues and business development, share some words of wisdom about the economy and our community, and provide an opportunity for you to meet one another in a relaxed small group setting. Please stop by; no registration is required.
Of course, I'll be glad to answer questions about what retirement might look like as well. I've been discussing succession planning with business owners for years (including with several of you), so it was a natural conversation to have with our amazing board of directors. The search is underway for the new Colerain Chamber president, and as soon as we have an update, we'll communicate that news.

Founded in 2004, Cincinnati Computer Reuse (CCR) is dedicated to bridging the digital divide by providing affordable refurbished computers while promoting secure, responsible e-waste recycling. Originally launched to meet the needs of schools and nonprofits, CCR expanded in 2010 to serve individuals and families, ensuring that access to technology is not limited by income or background.
Donated computers from individuals and businesses are carefully evaluated, data-wiped by trained staff or board members, and refurbished with the help of volunteers. For business donations, certificates of data destruction are available, providing peace of mind along with the opportunity to give back.
Open to the public on Wednesdays (3–8 PM) and Saturdays (9 AM–1 PM), CCR is staffed almost entirely by dedicated volunteers. Their mission goes beyond technology—it’s about empowering education, employment, and community connection, while also championing environmental sustainability through reuse and recycling.
