Open Music Sessions Featuring Colfax Speed Queen

Join us for March's Open Music Sessions, featuring the garage rock of Colfax Speed Queen.

The event starts this Friday, March 2, at  7 pm, at Open Media Foundation ( 700 Kalamath Street).

Grab some free food and drink from Sexy Pizza, Crazy Mountain Brewery and Intrepid Sojourner while you watch the Countdown Show upstairs, starting at 7:30 pm.

Head downstairs to Studio A at 8 pm for comedy by Allison Rose and Geoff Tice, followed by Colfax Speed Queen.

New Staff

Join us in welcoming new staff to the Open Media Foundation. Joining the Web Services team are UX/UI Designer Ari Scott and Sam Carlson as Digital Project Manager.

Also joining us is Jameson Courville, former member of Open Media Generation, who will be serving a year with us as an AmeriCorps VISTA.

Denver Open Media Fundraiser at Mercury Cafe

Join us for a Denver Open Media fundraiser on Saturday, March 24, 7 pm, at the Mercury Cafe! There will be live music by El Javi, Funk Hunk, and more, as well as live art and a raffle! Tickets go on sale soon - $8.50 presale and $10 at the door. The theme is spring break, so wear your best beachy gear! Hope to see you there!

DJ Booth

We officially have the coolest receptions desk around! Check out the new DJ booth for Denver Open Media 104.7 FM, located at the front entrance of our building at 700 Kalamath Street.

A special thanks goes out to Mighty Fine Productions for their help in setting up the DJ booth.
DOM Equipment News

The upgrades to Studio A are complete! We now have five matching Sony HXC-FB75SC HD ⅔ chip professional studio cameras. The three manually controlled cameras come complete with 20x zoom lens, tallies, viewfinders, rear camera controls including varizoom zoom controllers, and the two robotic cameras come with a new Telemetrics robotic controls. The RCCP-M features a full color touchscreen interface for easy-to-find camera functions, pan, tilt and zoom speed control knobs. The two robotic cameras are also equipped with teleprompters and clocks controlled by a laptop.

During this month's Open Media Lab, we will be showing our members our new and improved Studio A upgrades (see above). This includes the new robotic cameras, teleprompters, and more! Stay for the Member Production Team (MPT) meeting after to hear about updates the film HUSH. And, as always, members are also welcome to bring their current projects for staff assistance.
