Dear {first name},

After finishing my book, Healthy Indulgence , I wanted to fully dedicate myself and my team to the development and creation of this course. I had a clear vision of the kind of content I wanted to share, so I wanted to be able to express these ideas in the clearest, simplest way possible for the viewers. In creating Daily OM , my goal was to reach millions of people across the country, and make an impact on them by transforming their lives in any way, shape, or form. If I am able to do that, I know that I, and the course, have succeeded.

The team and I first began shooting at a home in North Hollywood. We got creative with the shooting locations since we did not want viewers to see the same background in every video. Because we wanted varied backdrops, we did plenty of scouting and experimenting to ensure that the chosen settings were pleasing to the eye, and looked and sounded good on camera. Finding the perfect shot often involved moving around furniture, or rearranging pictures on the wall. I wanted the focus of my videos to be my words and the lessons, so it was best for the decor, and background to be as simple as possible. We also filmed several videos outdoors, because the team felt that the topics of some lessons seemed to fit a more casual, open air vibe. However, although we found some great shots by the pool outside, we had to work with the inevitable noise from dogs barking, and airplanes passing overhead. Through every struggle on set, the team communicated and collaborated to create a quick solution.

We then began shooting at my dear friend, Mark T.’s house. He was kind enough to let us film, cook and rearrange furniture in his beautiful home for about two weeks of filming. Because the home is very well-lit, (a bonus anytime you’re not filming), we ran into difficulty finding locations that didn’t cast too much light on camera. However, the team was able to tackle these problems by shooting at different times of day, or blocking the light from the windows.

The final day of shooting wrapped with the filming of chocolate cooking videos. The overall mood on set was very positive. We were excited to see the course coming together, and the wide assortment of tasty food from one of our generous sponsors, Milk And Eggs, kept the team well-fed too! After completing the scheduled videos, we were left with delicious desserts to share with Mark and the entire team. Surrounded by good food, and good spirits, it was a great end to Daily OM filming!

Since this project was so dear to my heart, I wanted to know what my team took and learned from this project. I am so grateful and blessed with hard-working and good hearted people. I asked them as well as myself the question: " What did you learn while working on this project and what lesson did you take away from it? "

Sima : " This has been one of the most fulfilling and memorable moments in my life. Through this experience I have conquered my fear of talking in front of the camera and learned to get comfortable speaking with my accent. Being able to see my vision for these courses come to life is so exciting, and I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the world to see the project I, and my team have been working so hard on."

David : "When it comes to shooting video for a project like this, it’s not just the location, or the preparation that matters. It’s not just the story line or the wardrobe and make up. And it’s not just about the shadows and highlights, or the technology to capture and edit. It’s what you see in the “frame” on the display that matters. We learned to look at the “frame” together and really see what it is showing us. We learned to embrace each other’s views and not just our own individual frames. That is what gave us a sense of common purpose. It reminded us of why we are doing this project. I can tell you none of will look through a camera’s screen ever the same again.

Hector : "My experience with the Daily Om shoots have been unlike any other. Amongst the countless jobs and practices, I can say that I’ve been given the chance to truly practice my creativity. It has been a breath of fresh air through and through and I am glad to be working on something that I love doing without it feeling like a job. Working on this project has taught me the importance of patience and commitment; seeing something through to the end and to it’s full potential will be worth the wait and definitely worth the hard work."

Cynthia : "I learned that eating healthy doesn't mean you need to eat less or need to deprive yourself from eating sweets. Eating healthy is about eating more of the foods that's are good for us. Ive learned that I no longer need to deprive myself from eating sweets i am now able to make and bake amazing, delicious, and healthy desserts."

Lauren : " Working with Sima and her team to create this project was such a learning experience. Not only have I learned about different life lessons, but I learned how to work with a team to a complete a filmed project. It was a great experience with hard work, effort, passion, and many laughs. I am glad I was part of this team and project!"

Carlie : "My involvement in the making of the Daily Om course was a great experience that introduced me to the process of directing and filming. I was unaware of the extensive attention that must be paid to the lighting, sound and background of every shooting location. Although some of the settings appear pleasing to the eye, they may not look the same on camera. The team’s ability to attain quality content, even when filming on the hottest days in the loudest outdoor locations, taught me a valuable lesson in group collaboration and problem solving. While my role was mainly to record/photograph behind the scenes footage, my time on set allowed me to gain greater appreciation for the kind of content I see daily on various media platforms. After seeing the long hours and hard work that went into creating the Daily Om project, I am eager for this labor of love to be released to the world! "

Kristine : "During this project, I learned a lot about patience and the importance of planning things ahead of time. I will take this into consideration in future projects because I know it will help production run a lot more smoothly as well as feeling more confident in the execution of tasks. I haven't been on a production before necessarily and I am very glad I had this experience. Not only did I learn how to work better as a team, but I also learned skills in roles I never played before. For example, I wore hats as a Director, Producer and an Editor which were all equally challenging but amazing as well. Although I had a lot of things to learn during this project and patience wore thin at times -- I know I gained knowledge and experience that will help me for the future and I am thankful! Lastly, I want to thank every single person on the team, without all your hard work and dedication, this project wouldn't have been successful. It is a true blessing to work with such an amazing team and I respect and admire each and every one of you."
