This weekend - Special collection for "Haiti Earthquake Relief"

Recognizing the suffering of the Haitian people and growing need for assistance following the August 14th earthquake, Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley, OFM Cap, has asked that a special collection for Catholic Relief Services and the Church in Haiti be taken the weekends of August 21-22 or August 28-29 in all parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston. Parishioners are asked to address their checks to their parish, with “Haiti Earthquake Relief” in the memo.

"The people of Haiti are suffering,” said Cardinal Seán. “The earthquake has caused a significant loss of life and many have been injured. Desperation grows by the hour with the disruption in communications as well as basic services such as water, sanitation, and medical supplies.  Our parishioners have long answered the call when natural disasters have struck in other parts of the world. The Haitian people need us now.”

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) announced that it “is sending teams to provide clean water, sanitation, shelter and emergency supplies in response to a major earthquake that struck southern Haiti early Saturday morning. While the severity of the damage is still being determined, with communications down in parts of the country, hundreds of deaths have already been reported as well as extensive damage to buildings and homes.”

Select "Haiti Earthquake Relief" in your Online Giving account or Give Now option for one time online gift.

Covid Update
  • Effective September 3, parishioners are encouraged to wear masks at all indoor parish activities.
  • There will be a designated area at each church for socially distant and masked seating.
  • Priests, deacons and Eucharist Ministers will continue to wear a mask and sanitize when distributing holy communion.
  • As per the state advisory, all unvaccinated people are advised to wear masks indoors.

The health and safety of our parishioners and staff is of utmost importance to us. Please remain patience and flexible as we continue through pandemic together.
Great news! We are returning to 24 hour Adoration every First and Third Friday at St. Paul's (moving from Resurrection), beginning on September 3. To make it happen, we need folks to sign up for a time slot. It is so wonderful that you all attend, but if you can take a time slot that will ensure that we have coverage all 24 hours. We especially need coverage during the day. All you need to do it email Deacon Matt at deaconmatt@hinghamcatholic.org. The time slots are every hour. Please sign up! God bless you all.
