May 17th was Dennis Hopper Day in New Mexico! To mark the occasion, Ed’s painting of Dennis riding at the Taos Pueblo adorned the cover of the May/June issue of Taos Magazine. Ed knew Dennis and misses him dearly. This painting was Ed’s way of honoring his friend.
Featured Collectors - Janell & Doug Davis

"My grandparents, Ward and Veda Vickery, would travel to Gallup with my grandfather’s explorer scout troop, the MiKaNaMids, to watch the Native American ceremonial dances every year. They were became avid art collectors and eventually purchased a historic adobe in Ranchos de Taos in the 1960’s to spend their summers. As a child, I remember visiting my grandparents in the “Taos House” as we still call it today."

"When my husband, Doug, and I met Ed, we asked if he would paint a commission of our beloved Taos House. Ed came out to the property and was overwhelmed by the beauty and positive spiritual forces of the home. He immediately got to work, and I LOVE the warm feeling I get when looking at this painting even though it’s a winter scene. The minute I stepped into Ed’s studio and watched him as he effortlessly recreated the beauty of our home, I knew it was the most perfect painting that I could have ever asked for."

"The painting is titled 'First Snow' and hangs in our dining room, as a guest of honor at family meals. Ed perfectly captured the spirit, warmth, and love of our adobe casita and my family. It is one of my greatest treasures!"
