UNCF Scholarships & Internships
UNCF manages various scholarship programs and each program has its own eligibility criteria, open/close dates and required documentation. UNCF awards more than $100 million in scholarships annually to students attending more than 1,100 schools across the country, including a prestigious network of 37 HBCUs. Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship
The Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship awarded over two years ($2,500 each year) to a graduating high school senior who will enroll in a two-year community college, a vocational or technical training program, or a specialized program for students with LD and/or ADHD in the fall. Students must have a documented learning disability (LD) and/or ADHD. Learn more here. Deadline: April 5, 2023.
Women in Public Finance Texas Chapter Scholarship
Women in Public Finance – Texas Chapter (TX-WPF) operates a scholarship program that provides scholarships annually. For 2023, there will be up to seven recipients as follows: Two (2) scholarships of $1,000 to a college-bound, female high school senior; two (2) scholarships of $1,500 each to a female undergraduate student; three (3) scholarships of $3,000 each to a female graduate student. Alliant Group Blue Heart Fund: Black Collaborative
This scholarship is open to Black High School Seniors in the Greater Houston Area with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 with plans to enroll in a 2-5 year institution by the fall 2023 and must pursue a degree in a STEM field. Learn more here.
Deadline: April 24, 2023.
Alliant Group Blue Heart Fund: Greater Houston
This scholarship is open to high school seniors in the Greater Houston Area with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must be enrolled in a two to five year institution by Fall 2023. Students must plan to pursue a degree in a STEM field. Learn more here. Deadline: April 24, 2023.
Azteca Scholarship
Two Azteca Scholarships are awarded annually to an equally number of male and female high school seniors planning to attend a university or a college. Learn more here. Deadline: April 28, 2023.
E-waste Scholarship
You must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Home schooled students are also eligible. There is no age limit. You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. Learn more here. Deadline: April 30, 2023.
Jacques De Molay Lodge Scholarshp
Student must graduate from a Houston-Area High School between January 1, 2023 and July 31, 2023. Student must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university of higher education for the current or subsequent school term. Trade or vocational schools enrollment does not qualify for this scholarship.Learn more here. Deadline: May 26, 2023.
Early Childhood Education Program
A community-based free public school in partnership with Harris County Precinct 2, the Leonel Castillo Early Childhood STEM Academy offers a high quality early childhood education program, full day Pre-K3 & Pre-K4, in Houston's Near Northside.

Registration is opening soon for Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year. Learn more at ryss.org/castillo
North East STEM Academy Enrolling 6th & 7th Grade

Adult Literacy Classes

Affordable Housing Program 2023 Education Classes
The Tejano Center Affordable Housing Program delivers a full range of homebuyer counseling and education services aimed at increasing homeownership opportunities for low to moderate Income families.

Tax season is here!, Our community partners at BakerRipley Neighborhood Tax Centers continue to offer free tax preparation.

Families and individuals earning up to $58,000 are eligible. No appointments (walk-ins ONLY). Tax Centers are open through April 18, 2023
