College Acceptances are coming in!

We're celebrating early acceptances to Iona, Manhattanville, Fordham, Ohio State, UMass, Michigan State, Johnson & Wales, Pace University and more!

With graduation just months away, our Future 5 high school seniors are firmly on track with plans for college! We are celebrating more college acceptances and scholarships every day, as we work hard to make sure that each and every one of our seniors is prepared to "land with a plan" this June.

Future 5 Students Give Back!

Future 5 students give back at a number of local community organizations, including Person-to-Person, Wheel it Forward, Fairgate Farm, Bartlett Arboretum, Mill River Collaborative, and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. Students recently served food and provided entertainment at ARI (above), a Stamford-based non profit that enhances the lives of people with disabilities and their families. After serving dinner, Future 5 members sang while others got the crowd dancing!

College + Mentor = Students Land with a Plan!

Future 5 is all about the Power of Connection! Mawin's College Coach, Future 5 Alum and Board Member Marvin Louis (left), helped Mawin with the college process, and now he's headed to Southern Connecticut State University in the fall, where he also landed a Marketing Internship at Southern's Office of Career and Professional Development.

Meanwhile, Mawin's Future 5 Mentor, Olivier Kpognon, a local photographer, videographer and member of 100 Black Men of Stamford, has helped teach Mawin about his greatest passion -- photography -- bringing him along as an assistant on assignments, including portraits, events, even weddings!

I LOVE working at Future 5 as the Volunteer Manager. It is super fulfilling for me to watch volunteers bloom into college coaches and mentors, and see how happy it makes them to help our students. I'm enjoying meeting new volunteers and am working on expanding the Orientation and Training for volunteers in each specific volunteer category. As we continue to grow and have a very large junior class, we are currently looking for College Coaches to support our students as they embark on the college application process .
