Hello
CDN Update

Welcome to session 2019-20! I hope you had a fantastic summer and are refreshed and ready for the year ahead. Here at CDN we are geared up and looking forward to a busy session and to working with you over the coming months.

A big date coming up is 2nd September, which is when we will be announcing the College Awards 2019 shortlist. Good luck to all who entered and keep an eye on our website and Twitter (@ColDevNet) for the all important announcement.

I very much hope to meet you at one or more of our events. Please, as ever, don’t hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss any aspect of our work: jim.metcalfe@cdn.ac.uk

College marketing teams to gather for dedicated conference

We are excited to be holding a conference designed by our Marketing and Communications Network for everyone working in marketing, communications, PR and design across the sector. The event features keynotes delivered by industry experts plus hands-on practical learning. The event takes place on 12 September at Stirling Court Hotel and a few places are still available.

New school-college resources now online

The Scottish Government’s youth employment strategy, Developing the Young Workforce, provided the focus for the two-day CDN School/College Partnership Conference in May. Sessions included a look at the Glasgow FE landscape through data analysis; an approach to STEM which promotes interest in science from nursery to secondary pupils; creating effective school-college partnerships and much more. A range of useful presentations and case studies are available on the CDN website.

Made on a Mobile – Take 1 and 2

We have expanded our popular Made on a Mobile course to include follow-on training. If you’re new to learning about how you can make professional films on your phone or tablet, Take 1 is for you. If you’ve got a bit of experience or have already completed a previous Made on a Mobile, try our new Take 2. Either way you will experience an interactive day of learning which will equip you to get started on creating your films right away.
