Applying to college can be daunting. Writing authentic and impactful stories for the college essay is especially challenging, but they are more important than ever. The good news is that every college-bound student has a compelling and unique story to share for their essay.
Join us Dec. 9th at 4pm at the Free Movement Studio space to learn tips and strategies about how to write your college essay. BCHS grad Geoff Decker ('01), founder of The College Essay Journalist (and Karly's younger brother!), will cover a range of topics, including:
- Brainstorming topics
- Finding your voice
- Keeping it authentic
- Getting started and finishing
- Supplemental essays
- Other college admissions stuff: List of Activities, Additional Information, financial aid.
This event is free to attend for anyone who is interested. Sign up using this Google form to let Geoff know you are interested. When you sign up, you'll automatically receive a free online copy of his new book Understanding Financial Aid: Your Guide to Paying for College, which Geoff has co-authored with financial aid experts from the Understanding FAFSA project and will be published for the 2024-25 FAFSA application process.
