DETAILS:
World of Inquiry’s Class of 2022 will participate in a senior march as they mail letters declaring their intent to apply for college or commit to post-secondary plans. The group will join seniors in marches taking place across the country, while peers, teachers, and community members cheer them along the way.

The students' letters will also include notes of gratitude for adults who have shown them support and guidance through the years, as they reflect on their educational journey.

The Class of 2022 will march from World of Inquiry to City Hall beginning at 10 a.m. They are expected to arrive at City Hall at approximately 10:30 a.m., where Mayor James Smith will greet them. Each senior will mail their letter of intent, as their name is announced.

The senior march provides a forum to celebrate seniors and to encourage all to apply to college and inspire underclassmen to follow in their route. In addition, it celebrates and reminds individuals that college and post-graduation opportunities are accessible to all if done with intentional effort and focus.
The College March started as part of an Expeditionary Learning initiative to have students march to mailboxes to submit college applications. Developed in 2011 at Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School in New York City, the College March has grown into a national phenomenon. The event provides a forum to celebrate seniors as well as encourage and inspire underclassmen to follow in their footsteps. World of Inquiry’s first march celebrated the class of 2015.
