The College Now Adult Learner Program Scholarship is open to individuals who have taken a break of one year or more after high school and are now ready to embark on their academic journey. Whether you're aiming for your first bachelor's degree, an associate's degree or a non-degree certificate or license in a vocational or technical program, we're here to support you.

College Now Awarded $85,000 from Third Federal to Launch Xplore Program in Slavic Village


With an $85,000 grant awarded by Third Federal Savings & Loan in honor of its 85th anniversary, College Now will bring its innovative career and college exploration program to 40 high school students who reside in or attend school in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood.

College Now Hosts Adult Learner Resource Fair on July 31


Join us at the Adult Learner Resource Fair for a day filled with exploration on Monday, July 31, at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Palava Hut! From 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., this family-friendly event allows you to connect with colleges, universities, unions and workforce development programs while enjoying all the zoo has to offer.

Celebrating Former CMSD CEO Eric Gordon


A celebration was held on June 22 to honor outgoing Cleveland Metropolitan School District CEO Eric Gordon. Organized by College Now, the Cleveland Foundation and the George Gund Foundation, the event acknowledged Eric's exceptional dedication, tireless efforts and visionary leadership in guiding CMSD students for 12 years.



We extend our gratitude to all those who joined us for this special occasion, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Eric Gordon for the remarkable impact he has made on education in Cleveland!

College Now Staff Service Day


On Friday, June 9, our staff participated in our annual College Now Day of Service! Groups of employees engaged in various projects around the city, including a beautification project at Ben Franklin Elementary School, outdoor service at three different Cleveland Metroparks locations, book sorting at Cleveland Kids' Book Bank and food sorting/packing at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

State Budget Includes Increase to Ohio's College Opportunity Grant and New Merit Scholarship


On July 3, Governor Mike DeWine signed Ohio’s biennium budget, which will govern state spending through June 30, 2025. The budget includes two important provisions that will have meaningful impact on furthering postsecondary educational attainment for Ohioans: Increasing Ohio’s College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) and establishing the Governor’s Merit Scholarship. 


Advocates for higher education across the state, including College Now and the Higher Education Compact of Greater Cleveland, worked closely to build coalitions and articulated the critical need for these budget items.

College Now Hosted Fun Fair for Middle and High School Students



On June 30, we hosted a Fun Fair for middle school and high school students at the EJ Kovacic Rec Center in Cleveland’s St. Clair – Superior neighborhood! A special thank you to everyone who attended the event and learned more about our enriching summer programs. We were thrilled to see so many students asking questions, playing games and gaining a deeper understanding of how our programs can shape their futures and set them on paths to success.
