Looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity? Look no further! Make a difference by helping a College Now and/or Say Yes Cleveland scholarship recipient navigate through college with College Now’s Mentoring Program.
To become a mentor, all you need is a college degree, a commitment for the duration of the student's college journey (up to 5 years) and the ability to connect online, with in-person engagement opportunities. Your willingness to pay it forward is the key to making a lasting impact that starts with a student earning their college degree.
Starting April 1, tune in to WKYC Channel 3 on Mondays during the month to learn more about College Now’s Mentoring Program. We’re checking in with current and former mentor/mentee pairs who have positively impacted each other.
Apply by May 15 for consideration to be paired with an incoming college freshman.

'Requiem' sells out for Jones Scholarship |
On March 15, College Now and Peter Lawson Jones hosted a sold-out evening featuring the professional U.S. theatre and English-translation premiere of “Requiem” at Cleveland Public Theatre. Peter Lawson Jones is featured in the lead role of the play which runs through April 6, and the event benefitted the Charles & Margaret Jones Scholarship Fund at College Now. The event raised nearly $7,000, which will directly support Jones Scholars who are pursuing their postsecondary degrees at Ohio University, Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, Eastern Michigan University and Northwestern University. The fundraiser included a talk-back with Peter Lawson Jones and WKYC-TV3 anchor Christi Paul.
Peter Lawson Jones, a well-known attorney, former elected official, business consultant and professional actor established the scholarship named for his parents 25 years ago to honor their dedication to education. Margaret Jones was a Cleveland public school teacher and Charles Jones was a college administrator. Both Margaret and Charles had an unshakable belief in the power of education. To date, 14 Jones scholars have graduated from college and two are currently enrolled and pursuing their degrees.
College Now would like to thank Peter Lawson Jones and the Jones family for their continued generous support and commitment to education through the Charles & Margaret Jones Scholarship Fund! We are also grateful to Cleveland Public Theatre for making the event such a success.
Please contact Kittie Warshawsky, College Now's chief external affairs officer, if you would like to make a contribution to the Charles & Margaret Jones Scholarship Fund or to learn more about establishing a scholarship at College Now.
