Here are a couple of things you can do to help make the most out of this next school year

Juniors:
- Schedule a meeting with your counselor to make sure that you're taking all the classes you need and are on track to graduate.
- Get serious about your college research! Click here to learn how you can narrow down your college search. Also, make sure to visit your college center for more options.
Seniors:
It's about that time to apply to college! You can do this. We believe in you!
- Make sure to finalize your college admission essays for private schools and/or the UC application. If you're considering applying to a UC, start by answering all the questions you already have the information for, such as extracurricular activities and volunteer experiences.
- FAFSA and CA Dream Act applications open on October 1, so make sure to start gathering all the information you'll need to fill out either of the applications, including your parents' tax information. If you're applying for FAFSA, create an FSA ID ASAP! (Need help?Click here!)

Description
: Golden Door helps provide financial aid for thousands of DACA and TPS youth in the U.S. through education, mentorship and their scholarship. Golden Door scholarship recipients will receive funding to cover up to full tuition, room and board for a four-year degree at Golden Door partner schools, beginning Fall semester, 2018. Don't worry if you applied to non-partner schools - Golden Door will support students on a case-by-case basis. Be sure to fill out the application and review their essay questions online.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be eligible for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary Protected Status). Must also have strong a academic record. Recommendation letter is not required but you must submit your high school and/or college transcripts.

Description: The Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major national scholarship programs that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. National Scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference. Recipients must attend the National Scholars Conference to receive the award.
Eligibility: Must be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the U.S.; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2018 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation; demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required); be involved in co-curricular and community service activities; maintain a minimum grade point average 2.0GPA; be a U.S. citizen

Description: In memory of Henry Hall, NEFA has initiated the Annual Video, Essay, and Poster Contests for California youth between the ages of 10 through 14 in two categories, an individual, a recognized youth organization/educational group (i.e. School Class, Boy or Girl Club, Sport team, or Fine Arts group etc.) for the video contest only. The "Say No to Drugs" theme contests have an emphasis on the dangers of drug abuse.

Description:
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.
This scholarship requires NO ESSAY!
Eligibility: Current high school seniors attending school in the U.S. (or select DoD schools). Must be a U.S. Citizen and must also be planning to attend an accredited US post-secondary institution.
