As you finalize preparation of an application for GTA positions, or one of our graduate programs or the Master of Architecture professional degree; know you are making an excellent decision. Did you realize that our students have been recognized with more than 10 state and national awards in 2018 alone, and multiple groups of students presented their research at national conferences? That 100 percent of the students we have nominated for the Design Intelligence Graduate Scholar program have been accepted and afforded unequaled opportunities for employment? That our faculty are engaged nationally and internationally at the highest levels on editorial boards of prestigious academic journals, the Board of Directors of accrediting agencies, reviewers for national and international journals, conferences and awards? Additionally, our faculty are in demand across the country to participate as guests in design reviews at major universities, or conduct program reviews. Whether one measures excellence by grants, by publications, by employment opportunities, by connectivity, by awards or exhibitions; I am confident that when coupled with the quality of teaching and the integration of practitioners of the highest quality, we offer unparalleled opportunity for you to excel and succeed.

In the M.Arch program, graduate students have the option to pursue a year-long, independent thesis project in lieu of design studio during their final year of studies. The final thesis is a great opportunity for students to pursue an investigation that could become the seed of a life-long interest. I am currently teaching a new course in the graduate program: Thesis Prep. It is a joy to see our students embark on a journey of discovery, pursue their genuine interests and build on their inherent strengths as visual and spatial learners who possess a profound capacity to integrate and synthesize an array of information.
Welcome to a brave new semester. As a college we will face refreshed challenges in the form of new classes and studios. To aid in these efforts, Tau Sigma Delta is excited to announce the re-launch of the ASK Help Desk.
The ASK help desk exists to help students realize their designs. ASK has assembled a panel of tutors who have skills ranging from digital modeling to presentation ability. The new ASK Help Desk format will directly match a volunteer tutor to a student in need of help. Tutors and students will set up a time and place to meet that is convenient for both.
For more information about the ASK Help Desk and the subjects it covers, please see the attached poster. If you need help from the ASK help desk, please email your question to:
