Dean's Message:
Welcome back to what promises to be an invigorating and fulfilling semester!

You’ll see posters up regarding the WELL Building Standard sessions, sponsored by OFS Brands (means no cost to you!) which begin next Tuesday (1/16) evening. We have timed the four evening sessions to allow the most students to attend and will provide food as we know some of you will just be finishing a class prior to the 6:30 start time. That day also marks our second annual Student Organization Fair, plan to attend (in the Link), and enjoy catching up with your classmates over lunch.

Four excellent Hyde Speakers are featured the first part of the semester, and our College of Architecture Career Fair is rapidly filling up with employers (be sure to attend this Wednesday’s noon session for students).

The Landscape Architecture Program’s accreditation site visit occurs March 11 – 14. More about that as the time grows nearer.

Be active and engaged, contribute to the culture of the College in a positive way, and enjoy all the semester promises to bring!

CRP's Dan Piatkowski is offering a course on Sustainable Planning for the spring semester. The class will allow students to learn all aspects of sustainability on campus and make their own sustainability plan. CRPL 495/895 is now open for all students to enroll in on Myred.

Piatkowski also recently published an article entitled “Bicycle Backlash Qualitative Examination of Aggressive Driver–Bicyclist Interactions“ in the Journal of the Transportation Research Board. This paper explores aggressive driving behavior directed at bicyclists and the rationale behind it. After further research and hypotheses testing, the hope is to understand and eventually mitigate these behaviors.
